  This is a lovely lodge house which is much larger than it looks in the photos on the website.

  We arrived on a cold wet afternoon but were given a warm welcome by the property owner who showed us around the house. The house is well equipped and the new mattress which had arrived the week previous was extremely comfortable. The icing on the cake for us was the grand piano in the lounge which had recently been tuned. The kitchen is very modern but if you don’t fancy cooking there are plenty of nice restaurants and bistros within a short drive and in the summer months with fine weather not too far to walk to. Surrounded by trees and with stunning views from most of the windows it is a very relaxing house to spend time in. The only negative comment I could make is that there was no Wi-Fi so make sure you have plenty of data on your mobile phone before you go. We managed to get a 4G signal on O2 most of the time and there is a good selection of tourist leaflets in the property for you to browse through and plan your days out. All in all an excellent property which I would definitely return to for another stay. I would also point out that the owner is very accommodating and is keen to implement any suggestions/correct any problems during your stay. I think the description on the website needs to be updated to reflect this.

  The location of this property is perfect for exploring the lovely town of Porthmadog.

  The outside of the property is very attractive and the inside is quirky and, as the description says, full of antique furniture. The beds are comfortable, the showers are very good and there is plenty of fridge a freezer space. However, having no dishwasher was a big negative. Also no mirror or shaver point in the downstairs shower room and not enough towel rail to dray the towels. This sitting room is very dark and there is no desk or table next to a power point for plugging in a laptop computer. Most of the property was very clean, but the towel rail and skirting board in the downstairs shower room was dusty and the baking trays and some of the cups had been put back into the kitchen cupboards dirty. Overall the property was okay. Not the best holiday let we've had but certainly not the worst.

  What a beautiful spacious lodge!

  Lots of space with plenty of areas to lounge about in. The original building has a stunning old interior with extension containing a modern and spacious kitchen/dining area. The upstairs bedrooms were beautiful with access to a small balcony. The lodge and its grounds feels secluded but has the added bonus of takeaways, Aldi and other shops a short walking distance from the property. Our stay was great, on our last day I was still noticing new things and furniture, the property is loaded with history and many things to explore and admire. I would love to stay again!

  Location was perfect for us; a great blend of peace & quiet in a natural setting, while only a 5min stroll from Porthmadog's High Street with shops, restaurants, pubs, etc.

  And so close to the Llyn peninsula, with its views and villages, and Portmeirion and Snowdonia. We easily visited all 3 on 3 days. The welcome was covid-inclusive, informative, friendly and spot-on. The Lodge itself is a super blend of old and new. Cosy, traditional, quirky, bags of character, wonderful "natural" garden, with the modern kitchen, conservatory & ground floor shower room. There were only the two of us, so it felt even more spacious, but really, plenty of space for occupants if using all 3 bedrooms. A lovely vibe here. We hope to visit again.

  Kathie is a great host and very approachable.

  We were misdirected by some locals when first arriving at Morfa Lodge which made it more difficult to find than it should have been to find. The property itself is quite a quirky mix of new and old and was more than adequate for our party of 6 over the Christmas week. Morfa lodge is a great location with so many attractions within walking distance : Welsh historic Railways, Port Merion, Black Rock Sands Beach And not to mention other sites such as Harlech castle only a short drive away.
