Guests say

Park Stables is a well-received holiday cottage, praised for its spaciousness, high-quality furnishings, and well-equipped kitchen. Guests appreciate the property's cleanliness and the thoughtful touches such as provided essentials. While the location is central for exploring the Cotswolds, some guests noted road noise and a busy nearby road. Comfort levels are high, with comfortable beds and a cosy wood-burning stove. However, there are mentions of maintenance issues, particularly with plumbing and water supply. Thoughtfulness is evident through welcome gifts, although these are not guaranteed for every stay.

The property is consistently described as very clean, with only a few isolated comments about minor cleanliness oversights. The high standard of cleanliness contributes positively to guests' experiences.

The central location is convenient for visiting local attractions, but some guests have noted the proximity to a busy road and a car repair yard, which affects the tranquillity expected of a countryside retreat.

Guests find the property comfortable, highlighting the quality of the beds and the warmth provided by the wood-burning stove. The spaciousness and decor also contribute to a comfortable stay.

The property is well-furnished and equipped, especially the kitchen. However, there are several mentions of maintenance issues, particularly with plumbing and water heating, which suggest room for improvement.

Guests have mentioned thoughtful touches such as welcome gifts of biscuits and milk, and the provision of essentials. While these are appreciated, it is noted that such gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

About this property

Bourton-on-the-Water 3.3 miles. For families and groups, old or young Park Stables is absolutely spot on, ideal. We love it! Set in the heart of the Cotswold's most popular region it is within a very short drive of the most well known locations (Burford, Stow-on-the-Wold and Bourton on the Water). It also has a couple of very good pubs, The Lamb at Great Rissington called The Feathered Nest at Westcote are both within 5 mins drive, so in short you have everything here to create an enjoyable and memorable holiday. Recently renovated the barn, which is all on one level, is super comfy thanks to its abundance of space and quality of furnishings. So, just relax and spread out as you will feel right at home here. Mega-well insulated its cosy (with the all important wood burner) and gorgeous in winter, yet fling open the doors and windows and you can let the fresh country-air flood in. There's plenty of seating for lounging, a large dining table for hearty meals which you can whip up in the slick kitchen. The bedrooms are spacious (to the say the least) and with three bathrooms, you each get your space and privacy. Outside is a small, but perfectly adequate garden with lashings of parking. The property is in a beautiful countryside located next to a working farm, with great walks nearby including the wonderful renowned Oxfordshire Way. Heavenly and perfectly quintessential Cotswolds!

Wyck Rissington, Gloucestershire is a short drive away from the quiet village of Little Rissington. Just outside the popular destination of Bourton-on-the-Water, Little Rissington is worth visiting for its 12th century church with its moving memorial to RAF servicemen. The village styling is typical for the Cotswolds; small cottages fronted by flower-boxes. Associations are always made between the village and RAF Little Rissington, the air base which was located relatively close. The main attraction is the 12th century church, which lies apart from the village up a short path to the west of the road. On Pound Lane is a row of Cotswold stone cottages described as perhaps the best example in Gloucestershire of 17th century vernacular building.

A wonderful cottage. Thank you. I guess if I’m going to be picky the welcome pack was very poor compared to all the other properties we have stayed in.

Sofas need a good clean - stained. Beds a bit squeaky in both bedrooms used. The hot water tank is very noisy. The wifi did not seem strong enough for the TV so it was not able to be used as a smart TV - disappointing. Maybe some signal boosters will help the internal strength. Otherwise was well furnished, especially in the kitchen. I did leave a note to say the cold tap part of the kitchen mixer was dripping at times.
