The ground floor is completed by a handy utility/cloakroom for your convenience. Follow the stairs up to the first floor, where you will find three beautifully decorated bedrooms, a spacious super-king-size with access to its own balcony, picture window showcasing the exceptional views on offer and stylish en-suite bathroom, as well as two double bedrooms, both with access to a well-appointed bathroom. Continue up to the second floor, where two further bedrooms await, a bright and airy double with lake views, and a twin, both of which are served by a cloakroom. Head into the village centre, where you can treat your loved ones to a well-deserved meal at The Jumble Room, Potting Shed Café and Dove Bistro And Signature, fine dining at the Michelin Star restaurant of Forest Side, local ales at Grasmere Brewery, or tour the former home of the great poet William Wordsworth, now managed by the National Trust. Next stop is Rydal, where you can hike through the picturesque man-made Rydal Cave, or continue onto Ambleside, where you can visit the fascinating remains of a 2nd-century Roman Fort, wander the Armitt Library & Museum Centre, or enjoy leisurely strolls up to the stunning Stock Ghyll Force. Further afield, you will find the popular town of Windermere, where you can enjoy a plethora of watersports on the famous lake, exceptional views of the Langdale Pikes from Orrest Head and Queen Adelaide’s Hill, classic tales at The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction, and fresh seafood at Hooked. For a luxury escape to the Lakes, look no further than Huntingstile Lodge.

Grasmere, a small village in the Lake District National Park, is perhaps best known as the birthplace and lifelong residence of poet William Wordsworth. The Wilson family has been baking gingerbread at their shop, The Grasmere Gingerbread Shop, for over 60 years. Additionally, the community is home to Grasmere Lake, a number of unique shops and taverns, and a church built in the 13th century. In August, Grasmere Sports hosts a number of different sporting events, including Cumberland wrestling, which can be watched by the public. Ambleside and Lake Winderemere are only five miles away and feature a variety of shops, pubs, and restaurants, as well as the iconic Bridge House from the 17th century, which is a popular photo op in the Lake District. The towns of Windermere and Keswick are easily accessible by car, while the lake itself offers opportunities for boating, sailing, and other activities. If you're planning a trip to the Lake District, Grasmere is a great place to stay.

Great walking on the doorstep and easy access to Grasmere village. Another twin room rather than four doubles would probably suit gatherings like ours better, but we coped. Would be great if there was a barbecue, though

This special house was to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary (we honeymooned in Grasmere). The photos do not do the house full justice. Spectacular views from nearly every window (esp the master bedroom). Comfort and space for our 3 generations of family. Would love to return but booking dates have changed from Fri to Sat start which does not work for us. Pity!

Downstairs rooms were great - 2 large lounges, good size dining table, well equipped kitchen with plenty of pots, pans etc. Upstairs, would have preferred more twin beds rather than doubles, would have suited our family group better. Weather not great so couldn't enjoy the outside seating areas much. Thanks for all the books & maps which helped with walk planning.
