Located in Windermere village at the centre of The Lake District National Park, this luxury house is the perfect venue for milestone birthdays,3 generation family gatherings and girls' weekends. The property features a large lounge and dining room, hand-built kitchen with AGA and second range cooker, 6 lovely bedrooms and 4 bath/shower rooms. Number One's stand out features are its 7 seat hot tub and 15 seat cinema in the cellar. 

Number One, sleeps 14 and is part of The Terrace a private row of large house to rent at the heart of Windermere Village.

On entering this grand house, you will be welcomed by a bar in in the hallway, which is the perfect place to start your break. Crack open a glass of bubbly take a seat and wait for the rest of your party to arrive.

Number One has many stand out features like its 15-seat cinema in the cellar complete with 75-inch Smart TV. Login to your Netflix or Prime Video account and enjoy a private screening, we’ve aptly named it the secret cinema. Or it’s 7-seat hot tub to the rear of the property.

The dining room seats up to 20 around a super-sized oak table where many a fabulous night has been spent. We are happy to put you in touch with outside caterers to add extra magic to your stay.

The lounge has huge Chesterfield sofas centred round a living flame gas-fire and large Smart TV. It’s a great room to kick back and relax in after a day in the Lakes.

Number Ones kitchen has a large 4 oven aga with infrared hob and a second range cooker everything you’ll need to cook up a feast. There is also a small table for those who simply want to sit, pour a glass of wine and watch the culinary magic happen.

Upstairs there are 6 bedrooms, sleeping up to 14 and 4 bath/shower rooms.

The Terrace is perfectly located, a moment’s walk from Windermere Village, where you’ll find a multitude of independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. Your corner shop is Booths (the Waitrose of the North).

Across the road from Number One is the start to one of the best short walks in the Lake District – Orrest Head. It takes about 20 minutes to reach the top where you’ll find one of the best views of the Lake District. The walk inspired the writing career of Alfred Wainwright perhaps the most celebrated Lake District travel author.

We regularly host milestone birthdays, girls’ weekends, family escapes and business groups.
