Beyond that are rolling green hills that make the countryside a pleasure to gaze out at. The nearest town to the property is Kendal in Cumbria, where guests can find shops, pubs, restaurants and all the other amenities you may need. Situated 6 miles north of the nearby market town of Kendal, Selside is an area in the rolling foothillsof the Shap fells with its own church and village hall. Used as a holiday base, Selside is within easy driving distance to the breathtaking Lake District via Windermere for the South Lakes or Penrith for the North Lakes. The Western Yorkshire Dales are also just a short, lovely drive away via the town of Sedburgh. The nearby town of Kendal (sometimes known as the Gateway to the Lakes), offers a wide variety of pubs and restaurants with the Brewery Arts Centre offering live entertainment and cinema, as well as excellent dining experiences.
