Windermere Lodge is highly praised for its excellent location, cleanliness, and modern comforts. Guests appreciate the well-equipped lodge, its proximity to Bowness, and the views of Lake Windermere. While some minor issues with maintenance and comfort are noted, the overall experience is positive, with many guests eager to return.
The lodge generally receives high marks for cleanliness, with many guests finding it spotless. However, a few guests noted dust and the need for a deeper clean in some areas, slightly affecting the overall perception.
The location is consistently lauded for its convenience to Bowness and the beautiful views of Lake Windermere. The lodge's setting in a peaceful park adds to its appeal.
Most guests find the lodge comfortable and well-equipped, with special mentions of comfy beds and underfloor heating. Some guests, however, mention uncomfortable sofas and issues with the shower, which suggests room for improvement.
Facilities are generally well-regarded, with a well-equipped kitchen and on-site amenities. Some guests experienced issues with the Sky TV and Wi-Fi, and there were occasional maintenance concerns.
Guests mention welcome packs and a games cupboard, indicating a thoughtful touch. While these are appreciated, it's important to note that such gifts are a bonus and may not be guaranteed for every stay.
Windermere is a stylish and new lodge, light and spacious situated in the Beech Hill area of Fallbarrow Park, in a quieter area surrounded by mature trees. It’s just a hop skip and a jump to the clubhouse and facilities and the same to the lake and marina. You’ll also enjoy glimpses of the lake a few yards away. There are two double bedrooms and two bathrooms, making it a great choice for couples with plenty of relaxation room. A spacious deck wraps around the lodge – perfect to simply unwind and enjoy the peaceful setting. Windermere Lodge offers guests a relaxing retreat furnished to a high standard. Fallbarrow Park is one of the loveliest Parks in the lake district, sitting right on the shores of Lake Windermere, with views across the lake and up to the fells all around. The bustling, cosmopolitan village of Bowness-on-Windermere is 0.2 miles walk away handy for many shops, bars and restaurants. From Bowness Pier you can start an unforgettable day out on the water with Windermere Lake Cruises – board a beautiful cruiser and hop on and off or rent a canoe or a motorboat. If you wish to stay closer to your lodge, Fallbarrow has on site bar, restaurant, deli, as well as a children’s play area, beer garden, picnic area and woodland walks. Further afield, drive up to Windermere village – two miles away, or the bustling market town of Ambleside four miles away and you are only four miles from Troutbeck village at the foot of the Kirkstone Pass which winds its way up over the high fells and then down to Ullswater. All in all a fabulous location and lodge for your Windermere adventure.
The vibrant twin towns of Bowness and Windermere hold enduring appeal for visitors to the Lake District National Park, with each providing a range of nearby attractions, amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes. A variety of boat trips and boat hire are available from Windermere Lake Cruises in Bowness to Brockhole, Ambleside and Lakeside (at the southern end of the lake where the Lakeside Aquarium and the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway are situated). The World of Beatrix Potter attraction and the Old Laundry theatre are 1.5 miles away. Orrest Head, where Alfred Wainwright was inspired to write his series of iconic guidebooks, is a 30-minute walk to enjoy the spectacular panorama of far-reaching views over the lake and surrounding fells. Brockhole, which offers high wire tree top experiences, is less than two miles away, and the historic villages of Grasmere, Ambleside and Troutbeck are a short drive away. There are also a variety of watersports on offer for the more energetic at marine centres along the lake. The area is ideally situated for exploring all that this region has to offer, whether by foot, bike, car, railway or bus; and is within easy reach of attractions such as the spectacular Langdales, Beatrix Potter’s Hill Top House at Far Sawrey, Coniston, Grizedale Forest Park, with its delightful walks and famous outdoor sculptures, mountain biking and “Go-Ape” adventure park, Ullswater, Kendal, Keswick, stone circles, Roman forts and England's highest mountain, Scafell Pike.

The location was amazing, secluded in the greenery of the trees but a lovely view of Lake Windermere beyond. Just a short walk into the bustle of Bowness - an amazing stay - will book this lodge again!!
