Guests say

Guests have had a delightful stay at Woodland Nook Lodge, praising its cleanliness, comfort, and tranquil location. The lodge's proximity to attractions and the inclusion of a well-equipped kitchen and cosy furnishings have contributed to a relaxing and enjoyable experience. While some minor maintenance issues were noted, the overall sentiment remains highly positive.

The majority of guests found the lodge to be very clean and well-presented, with only a few isolated comments about specific areas needing deeper cleaning. The consistent remarks on cleanliness contribute to a high score.

The lodge's location is frequently highlighted as peaceful and ideal for exploring the Lake District, with easy access to nearby towns and attractions. The quiet cul-de-sac setting is appreciated, enhancing the location score.

Comfort is well-regarded with guests mentioning the lodge's warmth and cosiness. However, some guests noted the mattresses were too firm, slightly impacting the comfort score.

Facilities are generally praised, including the on-site bar and restaurant, though some guests experienced issues with outdoor lighting and internet connectivity. A noisy gas delivery was a one-off incident but did affect the experience for those guests.

While guests have expressed appreciation for the lodge's amenities and the festive decorations during Christmas, there is no mention of gifts or special thoughtful touches that would warrant a score in this category.

About this property

Woodland Nook is a modern and comfortable holiday lodge sleeping four people, at White Cross Bay, on the shores of Lake Windermere. The lodge sits at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac and is a short distance to the clubhouse and facilities. With its spacious open plan living and dining area and fully equipped kitchen, it’s a lovely retreat but with all the comforts of home. The outdoor decking and lounging furniture means you can enjoy an al fresco breakfast or perhaps an evening glass of something chilled. Woodland Nook also welcomes two dogs so the whole family get to enjoy a holiday. White Cross Bay is in a fabulous location, on the shores of Lake Windermere. With views across the water and to the surrounding fells, you are literally in the heart of the Lake District and your lodge will be just a few yards from the waterside. Note: Some facilities on the park are subject to extra cost such as use of the pool, entertainment, bar and restaurant. 500 yards up the main A591 is Brockhole Lake District Visitor Centre, with its gardens, house, café, restaurant, walks, boats, adventure playground and Tree Top Trek: there’s lots to do! You’re also just two miles from Windermere village with shops, cafes and pubs, and three miles from Bowness boat landings, where the cruisers come in. Bowness is a cosmopolitan village with award-winning restaurants and pubs and quirky shops, a cinema and the World of Beatrix Potter attraction. Three miles in the other direction, head to Ambleside, another bustling town with shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants and of course, walks in every direction. Two miles north on the A592 is the pretty village of Troutbeck, home to two traditional pubs with log fires: The Queens Head and the Mortal man; Holehird Gardens, and the National Trust’s Townend House. Further on you climb up to the magnificent Kirkstone Pass, then drop down to Brotherswater & Ullswater. An amazing holiday in the Lake District awaits you.

The twin towns of Bowness and Windermere are both vibrant, fun-filled places set within the splendid scenery of the Lake District. Both towns provide a range of amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes whilst Ambleside offers the additional attraction of a boat ride to Bowness, the Lakeside Aquarium and Beatrix Potter's 'Hill Top House' at Sawrey. Grizedale Forest Park is within easy driving distance and is home to a range of activities including many good walks, mountain biking and the 'Go Ape' adventure park. The region also boasts many National Trust properties as well as a variety of water sports for those who prefer a more adrenaline-fuelled trip. Set in a very peaceful spot, just a shame we didn’t get the weather to enjoy the large deck. It’s very spacious and has a door between the living space and the bedrooms which is ideal if you have kids. Having two toilets and two showers is also a plus. Would definitely recommend! You can walk into Bowness-On-Windermere from the site too.
