Hexham, a market town with bustling streets, a decent selection of shops, and an intriguing abbey with paintings from the 15th century and a beautiful Saxon crypt, is ten miles away. Around a one-hour journey will bring you to the Gateshead Metro Centre, one of the biggest shopping malls in Europe, as well as the Border Country, Northumbrian shoreline, Kielder Forest with cycling and watersports, Beamish Open Air Museum, and Durham Cathedral.

A great location with beautiful country walks and close proximity to the lovely coastal towns of Amble and Whitley Bay to name two of many beautiful northumberland seaside towns. The apartment was extremely clean and very comfortable and although above a pub which was lively on the Friday and Saturday this did not spoil our stay and ear plugs were available.

The area has some fantastic tourist sites and a visit to Cragside is a must. Would definitely stop here again, Michael is a very good host.

The owner could not be more helpful. Being directly above the pub there is occasionally some noise, but generally not a problem. Parking is available close to the premises, although not adjacent as the parking areas there are for the neighbouring property. Wark is ideally situated to explore the delights of Northumberland and Hadrianâs Wall, etc. Locally there are numerous pleasant walks, especially along the banks of the Tyne.
