Guests have found 'Ramblers Retreat' to be a cosy and comfortable cottage, well-situated for exploring the North York Moors & Coast. The property is praised for its cleanliness, comfortable furnishings, and a dog-friendly garden. While some minor maintenance issues are noted, the overall experience is positive, with many guests expressing a desire to return.
The cottage is consistently described as clean, with no negative comments on cleanliness, indicating a high standard maintained by the owners.
The location is appreciated for its convenience to local shops, takeaways, and scenic walks, although one review mentions undesirable frontage and noisy neighbours, slightly impacting the score.
Comfort is highlighted with mentions of comfy sofas and beds. However, concerns about steep stairs and a challenging front step for those with mobility issues slightly lower the score.
Facilities are generally well-received, but some reviews point out issues with the shower, internet connectivity, and kitchen appliances, suggesting room for improvement.
While there is a mention of provisions on arrival, it is not a consistent theme across the reviews, and without further evidence, it is not possible to accurately score thoughtfulness. Guests should note that such provisions are a kind gesture and not guaranteed.

However, the extractor fan didn't work very well, every time we used the oven, it sat off the smoke alarm which made cooking very stressful. The shower doesn't have a shower screen or curtains, so we had to duck inside the bathtub, in order not to splash water everywhere. The internet was painfully slow. However, these are just minor issues, we would still recommend this little cosy house.
