Guests say

Guests have praised Yewdale for its spaciousness, comfort, and prime location close to Lytham's amenities and beach. The property is well-equipped and ideal for family gatherings, with special appreciation for its suitability for mixed generations and pets. While some maintenance issues were noted, the overall experience remains highly positive, with many expressing a desire to return.

Most reviews reflect a high level of cleanliness, with guests generally satisfied. However, one review mentioned sticky kitchen cupboards and stained furnishings, suggesting room for improvement in certain areas.

The location is consistently lauded for being close to the beach, shops, and restaurants, with guests appreciating the convenience and the quiet, well-kept street. Its proximity to Lytham's town centre and the seafront is a highlight for many.

The property is frequently described as comfortable, with spacious bedrooms and comfortable beds. The presence of night lights on stairs was particularly appreciated by older guests. However, during a heatwave, the lack of fans was noted.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, especially the well-equipped kitchen and the surprise of a piano. Nonetheless, some guests encountered issues with hot water, a poorly flushing toilet, and an oven with worn-off labels, indicating some maintenance needs.

While many reviews express gratitude and appreciation for their stay, there is no specific mention of gifts or special thoughtful touches provided by the hosts. Therefore, it is not possible to assess this category.

Time your visit right to attend the popular Lytham Festival, held in July, which plays host to a variety of pop and rock acts to suit every taste, or the Lytham 40’s Festival, which pays homage to war time glamour and takes place in August. The bustling seaside location of Blackpool, well-known for being home to the Blackpool Tower housing the spectacular ballroom features on Strictly Come Dancing, resides only a stone’s throw away and hosts a wealth of fun-filled attractions including Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Ripley’s Believe It Or Not and South Pier Blackpool where you can while away the day with a variety of rides and games; for animal lovers Blackpool Zoo is guaranteed to be a winner and the younger members of your party are sure to love Blackpool Model Village and Gardens. Whatever your Lancashire itinerary looks like, choose Yewdale as your homely base.

The seaside communities of Lytham and St. Annes-on-Sea are tucked away along a charming length of shoreline that is bordered by lovely parks. This beautiful region's economy was solely dependent on fishing for many years before the Industrial Revolution began, when the wealthy started to develop an affluent area that has persisted to the present day. You can reach lush Clifton Street, where you'll find charming boutiques, cafés, and independent businesses, by taking a short stroll from the Lytham seafront. The Old Lytham Lifeboat House Museum and the restored Windmill are located on Lytham Green, a stretch of grassy area between the water and the major coastal road that offers views of the River Ribble and the Welsh Mountains. While walkers and birdwatchers will appreciate the sweeping sand dunes of St Annes-on-Sea and the Ribble Estuary, which offers a safe haven for more than 250,000 migrating birds that return each winter, those interested in craft ales may take a tour of the Lytham Brewery. There are four golf courses in the area, and the most well-known is the Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club, which serves as one of the Open Championship's host courses. St Annes-on-Sea offers guests a distinctive, thrilling addition to the traditional seaside activities with its picturesque pier and endearing beach houses in a variety of pastel colours. St Annes Square and Wood Street, where you may discover quaint coffee shops, tea rooms, restaurants, and independent shops, are only a short stroll from the pier. Lytham St Annes is a delightful coastal town with a lot to offer, including leisurely long walks, sunny days on the sand, and fun-filled frolics in adjacent Blackpool. Additionally available nearby are award-winning restaurants, traditional pubs, and wine bars if you feel like celebrating, as well as boating, cycling, shopping, and swimming. Lytham St. Annes is the perfect destination for your coastal holiday, whatever that may be.

The house had everything we needed for a comfortable stay with an added surprise of a piano in the snug. The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms were great. It was a shame that I had to clean the fridge before we could put food in there and there was biscuit crumbs in front of the leather sofa and tissues behind another sofa under the radiator. The whole house could benefit from a lick of paint just to make it perfect.

The house, on 3 floors was just what we needed for a 3 generation, weekend get together. Plenty of space to relax without feeling cramped and the facilities were spot on. We requested a travel cot and high chair and both were there waiting for us on arrival. On street parking wasn’t a problem early morning or in the evening but it can get a bit hit and miss during the middle of the day, but that’s only to be expected in a seaside town. Overall, a lovely home to stay in and I would definitely book again! Thank you for having us!

Excellent location. The house itself is fabulous, so much room and the facilities are superb. Already booked for next year
