Nestled in the heart of the picturesque fishing village of Polperro, this lovingly furnished three-bedroom traditional Cornish cottage is steeped in history, offering the perfect base for families and groups of friends looking to dive into the heritage of Cornwall’s rugged south coast.
Low ceilings and classic cottage staircases throughout this home-from-home create a truly cosy ambience reminiscent of the cottage’s rich Cornish heritage. An exposed brickwork inglenook fireplace housing a roaring wood burner and a neutral colour palette in the lounge sets a soothing homely atmosphere that beckons you to unwind on the plush sofa whilst the sophisticated kitchen/diner complimented by granite worktops invites you to get creative with your local produce. Across the first and second floor, you’ll find three delightful bedrooms, one super-king-size zip-and-link (can be made up as a twin), one en-suite king-size and one single, which all feature characterful exposed ceiling beams and plenty of natural sunlight from the french windows. Outside, the enclosed paved patio is a haven of serenity; outside, the courtyard garden sits next to the river and is a perfect place for dining alfresco and is a secure space for children and dogs.
The idyllic fishing village of Polperro is as picture-perfect as they come, home to a labyrinth of narrow streets lined with colourful cottages and a host of charming local shops selling paintings, pottery and jewellery. Discover the rich maritime history of the area at the Polperro Heritage Museum of Smuggling and Fishing overlooking the harbour less than half a mile away or embark on a seafaring expedition to uncover concealed coves and mysterious sea caves from Polperro Harbour (0.5 miles). Golden sands and crystal waters await beach lovers both in the village of Polperro itself which you can wak to in under 5 mins or further afield and a short drive to Talland Bay, 4 miles away, which offers thrill-seekers plenty of water sports opportunities including kayaking and paddleboarding.

The cottage is deceptively big! We had everything we needed. Having the terrace at the back was a bonus, we made use of that when the weather allowed. We could make a posh coffee in the morning and sit at the dining table with the doors open to the terrace, we loved the kitchen, it's very sociable. When the rain & wind was just too much, we stayed in and made cheese on toast and watched films on the tv in the lounge - 2 sofas meant plenty of room for us and having Sky tv was a treat! None of us have it so we watched films we wouldn't have been able to if we were at home. The beds were very comfortable, very spacious bedrooms with plenty of storage. We loved not hearing any cars at night and just listening to the river flowing past the house. Honestly, we loved it there and wished we'd booked more time. We will 100% be booking again.
