North Street was home to Winchcombe's Post Office for over 120 years.

When the Post Office closed in 2016, it was purchased by the current owner who has totally renovated the property. Old Sorting Office is a ground floor cottage, situated in the former Post Office sorting office, behind the former Post Office retail premises, which now accommodates a gemstone and jewellery design studio.The front door of Old Sorting Office opens onto a landscaped courtyard garden, shared with Postmasters Lodging. The Old Sorting Office also has shared use of a small courtyard garden to the rear which can also be accessed from the cottage living area.The interior boasts a ground floor open-plan living area, where you will be welcomed by a lounge with cream sofas, a beautiful kitchen and dining area with cream-coloured units, a charming dining table, and wood-effect flooring. From morning through to evening, this is a lovely place to unwind, a secluded hideway, right in the heart of Winchcombe. The large super king-size bedroom boasting zip and link beds to offer maximum flexibility, has been lovingly decorated with stylish bedding, bedside tables, and leads out to the bathroom which has a bath and shower above. The bath has a sit and lift seat and shower door to enable people with less mobility to make full use of the facilities. Winchcombe has Walkers are Welcome status and many lovely footpaths with interesting things to see en-route. You can visit a remote Roman villa, Belas Knap Long Barrow, a Neolithic

burial site, as well as climb to the top of the Cotswold scarp and see

fantastic views. Winchcombe hosts an annual walking festival in May which offers a variety of walks with local guides, orienteering and evening events. Cotswold stone cottages enhanced by black and white half-timbered buildings, narrow side streets and charming houses make up the centre of this town. A unique retreat to bring you a memorable stay.

The bustling Fairtrade town of Winchcombe, a conservation site, lies above the River Isbourne, midway between Cheltenham and Broadway. Visitors can sample a mouthwatering array of local produce in the town's restaurants, wine bars, tea shops and deli's, or stroll around the eclectic range of local shops, all located along the three main streets, which remain full of character with their honey coloured stone and timbered exterior. The town also plays host to music and arts festivals, country shows and farmers’ markets. Guided walks around the town are on offer throughout the summer months, while Winchcombe lies on the intersection of the Cotswold Way, Gloucestershire Way, Warden's Way and Windrush Way, providing ample walking to suit all abilities. The quintessential English village of Broadway is just a short drive away and offers individual shops and boutiques, art galleries, restaurants and hotels, including the world-renowned Lygon Arms, popular for centuries and now offering spa facilities. The regency spa town of Cheltenham boasts beautiful Georgian architecture and a delightful range of shops, cinemas, theatres, restaurants, pubs and visitor attractions, including the famous racecourse. Many unspoilt Cotswold towns and villages lie to the east, whilst to the west is the waterfront city of Gloucester and the magnificent Royal Forest of Dean. The beautiful World Heritage city of Bath, Shakespeare's birthplace of Stratford-upon-Avon, and Warwick, with its magnificent castle, are all within an hour’s drive.
