Guests say

Green Tor in Scarborough receives high praise for its spaciousness, range of entertainment options including a games room, cinema room, and hot tub, and its prime location near the beach and Peasholm Park. Guests appreciate the property's cleanliness, comfort, and the thoughtful touches provided by the hosts. While some minor maintenance issues are noted, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, making it a recommended choice for family gatherings and large groups.

The majority of guests report the property as clean and well-maintained, with only a few mentioning areas that could benefit from more attention. The high standard of cleanliness contributes positively to the overall experience.

The property's location is consistently praised for its proximity to local amenities, the beach, and Peasholm Park. Its central yet quiet setting is ideal for both relaxation and exploring Scarborough, enhancing the stay for guests.

Guests find the house warm, cosy, and comfortable, with plenty of space and well-decorated bedrooms. The presence of multiple living areas and a snug caters to different preferences, ensuring a comfortable stay for all ages.

The property boasts excellent facilities, including a hot tub, games room, and cinema room. Some guests mention minor maintenance issues and suggestions for improvements, but these do not significantly detract from the overall positive feedback on the facilities provided.

While guests express gratitude for the thoughtful touches like Prosecco and hot tub towels, there is not enough consistent mention of gifts to warrant a score. It should be noted that such gestures, while appreciated, are not guaranteed for every stay.

During the winter months, the marvellous gas AGA keeps you toasty and warm in the kitchen, a beautiful, airy room to meet for breakfast with the family. This remarkable house boasts two sitting rooms, wonderfully presented in a tasteful, earthy colour scheme complementing leather sofas and art-deco style details; the second room enjoys a quirky, modern wallpaper print and an electric stove. Spread over two levels, the bedrooms are all elegantly decorated in bright, fresh hues, some of which benefit from en-suite showers and the top floor rooms enjoy lovely little suntrap balconies on which to sit out and absorb the fresh Yorkshire air. As you wander up the wide staircases to the first and second floors, you will be welcomed by fabulous, stained glass windows streaming bursts of vivid colour into the large landing areas. These wonderful period features of the building can be seen in parts throughout, from the grand fireplace and oak wood panelling in the formal dining room to the large bay windows overlooking the gardens outside. For entertainment during your stay, head to the converted garage and into the games and cinema room, and enjoy some quality leisure time. For a more relaxing end to an evening, turn on the hot tub and soak in the warm bubbles in a more secluded area of the garden. Head out the door and within a short walk find the popular Scarborough Open Air Theatre, where you can catch your favourite artists performing live shows throughout the summer. Relish in the wonderful stretches of sandy beach on the North Bay and South Bay during your visit to Scarborough; the many attractions await you at this glorious seaside town of North Yorkshire, not to mention the amenities on offer at nearby Whitby via the North Yorkshire and Cleveland Heritage Coast. Overall, a spectacular choice for your family break away.

The seaside town of Scarborough retains many of its original buildings, parks and gardens, as well as its castle which overlooks the town. Downstairs toilet has a picture on the wall which is covered in thick mould. Steps to back door became wet in driving rain and four of us slipped on them in the same place. I had the worst slip and ended up in A&E with a torn ligament and chipped bone in my left foot!! I’m now having to pay out a fortune to get someone to walk my dog not to mention the pain and suffering! They should put some anti slip surface down on the steps.

The kitchen doesn't work very well, it would benefit from a redesign, but the bedrooms, lounges and dining room are very comfortable. Loved the period features, Green Tor is a beautiful house.

! Winter duvets provided for all beds even in summer, opening windows very few and far between so a good nights sleep difficult. Fan provided for one bedroom but others also need one. Only 3 beer glasses and three wine glasses available for a property which sleeps 14 people!!!! Waste water escaping from down pipes from bathroom and kitchen. House needs a good deep clean, louge furniture smelly. This is not a 5 star property
