Guests say

The Coach House in Shropshire receives high praise for its cleanliness, welcoming hosts, and beautiful setting. Guests enjoy the well-stocked kitchen, comfortable furnishings, and the luxury of a hot tub. The property's location is appreciated for its tranquillity and proximity to local attractions. While some guests suggest additional showers and secure garden fencing, the overall sentiment is extremely positive, with many looking forward to returning.

Guests consistently mention the property's cleanliness, with several reviews highlighting its spotless condition. However, one review mentioned that the cleaning in the bathrooms could be improved, slightly affecting the score.

The location is frequently described as beautiful and peaceful, with easy access to local pubs and attractions. The serene setting contributes to a relaxing experience, as noted by many guests.

Comfort is a strong point for The Coach House, with guests finding the property spacious and the furnishings very comfortable. The presence of a hot tub adds to the comfort level, although a few guests suggested improvements such as additional showers.

The facilities, including a well-equipped kitchen and hot tub, are generally well-received. However, suggestions for maintenance and the addition of more showers, as well as comments on the need for better lighting around the hot tub and secure fencing, indicate room for improvement.

The hosts are commended for their thoughtfulness, with mentions of a welcoming bottle and chocolates. While these gestures are appreciated, it is important to note that such gifts are a kind bonus and may not be a standard offering for every stay.

About this property

This red-brick, detached property sits on the edge of the village of Llanymynech, perfectly located for sightseeing around the counties of Shropshire, mid Wales, North Wales and Cheshire. Set in tranquil surroundings with a secluded garden, The Coach House is a splendid retreat for families eager to take a step back from reality. A long driveway provides a grand entrance to the property, before parking in the ample off-road space. Allow the budding chefs to get comfortable in the kitchen, offering all the essentials for a short break, while the others set the centre dining table with crockery, cutlery and a refreshing bottle of fizz. Positioned on the first floor with exposed beams, the sitting room is a lovely space to spend your down time, furnished with sumptuous sofas and armchairs and a Smart TV so you can catch up on your favourite shows. As the evening comes to a close, discover the bedrooms to catch your rest; just across from the lounge is an elegant bedroom, built up into the eaves of the roof and housing a four-poster king-size bed, while downstairs is a king-size and twin with neat furnishings. The bedrooms are serviced by a bathroom and shower room, so you can best decide how to prepare for the day. To the exterior is a well-maintained garden, offering a tidy lawn and furniture set where alfresco meals can be enjoyed, plus the benefit of a hot tub, so relaxing here comes easy. Pop on your walking boots and get to know the area; Offas Dyke runs close to this detached property, a scenic 177-mile trail which is a real haven for walkers and hikers, while a little further afield is Llangollen with its steam railway and horse drawn barges. Head to the market town of Welshpool, lined with Georgian buildings, where you can tour the remains of the 17th century Powis Castle and uncover the past of the town at the exhibitions in The Wharf Powysland Museum. Those keen historians will love a trip to Shrewsbury, home to half-timbered houses and listed buildings, it’s a great place to learn about the local heritage as well as venture onto English soil, offering a museum with art gallery, a spectacular abbey and plenty of pubs to stop off for a pint. Nestled between the lands of Wales and England, The Coach House is wonderfully placed for days out to the Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park and even the leisurely city of Chester, making it a wonderful base for everyone.

Llanymynech is a settlement located about nine miles north of Welshpool, on the boundary of Montgomeryshire/Powys, Wales, and Shropshire, England. The Montgomery Canal runs past the settlement, which is located on the banks of the river Vyrnwy. The settlement's main street runs for the most part down the middle of the border, with the eastern half of the village in England and the western half in Wales. To the south, the River Vyrnwy runs through it, and to the north, massive limestone cliffs. The cliffs form part of Llanymynech Hill's quarry face, and the views from the top are breathtaking. The historic town of Shrewsbury is only 17 miles away and is well worth a visit at any time of year.

As well as the weather, the Coach House was everything we could have hoped for. A beautiful cottage in lovely, peaceful surroundings, we honestly didn't want to leave and are already thinking about our next visit. The property was perfect for us, well stocked with everything we needed and some lovely touches for the kids, including a little play area and toys for our 6 year old daughter. Whilst the kids enjoyed our welcome gift of chocolate cookies, the grown ups polished off the bottle of fizz! The garden and outdoor space was lovely, perfect for relaxing, playing games and dog walking. The hot tub was an extra bonus! Within walking distance of a cafe and some lovely pubs, it really has everything you need but is also within a short drive of the local shop and nearby attractions. Wonderful for our family holiday and the owner was very welcoming, a great host. Twelve out of ten!!

leaking shower. 2. Would really benefit from the addition of a shower in the upstairs bathroom. 3. Bedding and towels are tired. Kitchen is great, fresh and well kitted out. Gardens are lovely. We loved the conservatory but the roof blinds were not working so it was unusable in the afternoon. The lounge is great. It is not truly dog friendly, its dog tolerant! The garden is not enclosed but there are rules about having your dog on lead at all times (due to horses and sheep) - it would really benefit from being fenced off. That, I expect would also be an issue if there were small children. Cleaning was not the best in the bathrooms. There was a cot, high chair and many games for kids present. When staying with my dogs I would generally hoover and wash floors before I go but there was only a dirty mop and a hoover with only a hand attachment so I brushed up as best I could. We did enjoy our stay, the location is beautiful, there are lovely pubs around and a takeaway and canal walks on the door step.

A lovely cottage to stay in, with some great homely touches and the hot tub is a bonus. The garden and grounds are great, loads of room to run around and play, and plenty of fab days out for the family. This was our second stay and I have no doubt we will be back again for another visit :-)
