What our customers say about their holidays

This cottage is ideally suited near to Upton on Severn, easy short walk into town.
The cottage is advertised as three double rooms ie maximum for six people, however we felt the cottage was more suited to a couple or a family of four. This is due to the bathroom facilities which are old and desperately need modernisation. The cottage is well equipped with plenty of crockery, glasses and cutlery. There is adequate cooking utensils. The cottage would be improved by having a washing machine which incorporated a drier, this would free up the tumble dryer to instal a dish washer - who wants to wash up on holiday! The downstairs is comfortable and cosy but very dark, better lighting or more lamps would be great - difficult to read at night! The fact that there were no instructions on how to use any of the equipment ie microwave, hot water, where the bins were, and what to do with linen etc on leaving the property was very remiss and needs rectifying asap. There was no information on nearest A&E, doctors dentists etc also remiss. A visitors book where guests can write recommendations on pubs, restaurants and places to visit is always helpful and welcome when visiting somewhere new. The cottage could do with improvements in a few areas to greatly enhance a stay. We did have a problem during our stay concerning the bathroom which was addressed quickly.

Fabulous retreat in the quiet and friendly village of Eckington.
Hosts (Guy and Nattaya) are very welcoming and on hand if needed (but don't intrude at all). Lovely garden, with a newly-created, little fenced area for guests to use (though Guy and Nattaya were kind enough to show us round the main garden and encourage us to use that, too). The cottage was immaculate, and has everything needed for a relaxing, fully-equipped holiday. The listing warned that wi-fi can be patchy; but, with very few occasional and brief blips, we experienced no problems. Trains pass by the end of the garden, but are only noticeable because, otherwise, the only sounds are bird songs! Parking is on local roads -- but we easily found a spot (with Guy's helpful suggestion) just 20 yards or so away, which we had no problem using when we returned each evening from our excursions. This is a fabulous location for days out in the Cotswolds, or simply for hiding away from the world for a chilled, pleasant holiday. Needless to say, we shall be returning. Very highly recommended.

No 1 was the perfect stay.
The accommodation was excellent. It was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything you needed to enjoy a homemade meal or dine on a meal from one of the towns takeaways. The two bathrooms are roomy with large showers and plenty of hot water and towels. Also operating the heating was simple. The gardens are spacious and if the weather had been better I'm sure we would have spent lots of time outside, as the views of the surrounding hills was beautiful. The parking was as described ample. And the position ideal too. There many local walks to every level of fitness, from a gentle woodland stroll to a strenuous hill climb. If you're not a walker Church Stretton is a lovely little town with plenty of independent shops. We had a wonderful time and will hopefully return soon.

The Hideaway is a fabulous, quiet retreat in the heart of a welcoming little village in the splendid environs of the Cotswolds.
This was our third visit, and our experience was just as good as when we first visited a few years ago. Guy and Nittaya are welcoming hosts, happy to chat, but never intrusive. Naturally, they're available to help if needed, but all amenities and faciliites are provided, so there was no need to ask for help with anything. The Hideaway has its own fenced-off area of the garden, but Guy and Nittaya kindly invited us to look around their larger garden, and to sample the plums from their tree (perfect!). Nittaya also delivered some home-made sweet cakes (apologies, Nittaya, I can't recall their name!) on our final evening -- and absolutely superb they were, too! The Hideaway is a real gem of a find, with Guy and Nittaya the perfect hosts.

I have stayed twice at Rose Cottage and have thoroughly enjoyed both visits.
The cottage has everything you need plus more and is very comfortable. I especially like the location, it is a short walk to the town which has everything you need. Travelling from overseas I appreciated the care basket of tea, coffee, hot chocolate and sauces and also having a clothes dryer, makes laundry so much quicker! When I first stayed in November 2016, I was not familiar with the use of the electric cooktop and oven and the fireplace but the owners were so kind and helpful and took their time to explain to me how to use each of them. The owners made me feel very welcomed and when I returned in Sept 2017, it felt like I was coming back home.
