What our customers say about their holidays

A wonderful family three days was spent by us at Arlington Mill.
(There were ten of us). It is an amazing building and is just right for a large family group. There is so much space that everyone was satisfied with their own en suite accommodation. We ate in on two nights, preparing huge banquets in the massive and well-equipped kitchen (two freezers and two fridges!). The Catherine Wheel Inn is a stone's throw up the road and did us proud on one evening. This mill is an amazing place and there is so much to see in the village and surrounding area. It is a delightful part of the Cotswolds. Just one or two minor gripes. When using previous rented accommodation we have usually had a TV set in the bedrooms. Arlington Mill does not, though we were probably too tired to bother, anyway! The TV in the lounge appears only to receive programmes via Sky as Freeview failed to pick up any signal. The soundbar failed to switch on and is very precariously attached to the set. I am familiar with the model and it seemed to be inverted? We tried everything to get it into action, but it seemed dead. We brought DVD's with us for the grandchildren but were unable to use them as the player was not connected to the set and the leads appeared to be missing. The heating system is quite complex and not to be messed with! The timer appeared to be incorrectly set though we were frightened to fiddle with it and left it well alone! In leaving it as it was the heating seemed to come on very late in the evening and hardly at all in the morning when we were getting up. The master bedroom, however, was always warm. As a result, we had to purchase heaps of logs and used the very efficient log burner to heat the dinning and associated lounge area where we spent most of our time. These are only minor gripes about a holiday let which is second to none. It certainly has the 'wow factor' and is well worth the money. Congratulations to the owners who have done a great restoration job on what is a wonderful old building of some significance.

Absolutely perfect setting amongst the vines and a stunning farmhouse.
Such a nice place to stay with friends. It is very spacious, well maintained and has a lovely grand but cosy feel. There are a couple of niggles. Donât want to moan but quite useful for the owners to know how to improve. The wifi is very bad. It doesnât work in wvery room and most of us couldnât use it. I know itâs nice to be a le to switch your phones off but we brought speakers that connect to wifi so that was a real pain. The dining room light flickers so you canât have it on. Itâs quite a dark room anyway so you canât eat in there in the evening unless you want to eat in the dark. The kitchen is stocked in quite an odd way. 12 egg cups but then no sharp knives. It has a weird mix of things and not enough of what you need e.g. good knives and pans. Not sure if itâs possible but it would be lovely if some of the plants were trimmed bacl that block the pond. When sitting outside it would be lovely to be able to look at the pond but you canât see it. The TV doesnât work, it might be because of the wifi issue but we couldnât get freeview to work which was a shame. The place really is lovely but if those things were fixed it would be perfect!

This is a substantial property with an extensive garden area that you can even tire a spaniel out in!
Its a 10 min walk into Hawkshead from the property where there is a good selection of pubs and shops. We were hit by Storm Arwen shortly after arriving so had to decamp for two nights as all the power went off, but the owners kindly refunded the two nights which was very good of them as the storm had nothing to do with them. We enjoyed staying here, with all the room, large kitchen for cooking in and dining room and cosy lounge. Two main issues, there is only BBC iplayer on the TV, no other channels at all, so they could do with sorting that out as you have to rely on the BBC and the DVDs in the property, not great on early dark nights. Also the property is chilly; the heating is set to 18 degrees which is too cold in winter. I did reset the Hive heating control for the week but the owner reset it back remotely so we had to rely on the boost control. Finally a watch out, the owners arrive promptly at 10am on checkout day, never had that at any other property stay where some latitude is given

Second time we have stayed in this property.
Great for our large family group, large kitchen, living & dining area, great for being together & apart. Cosy, comfortable & clean. Would definitely come again. But a few areas we would like to be addressed. Informed there were hair dryers, but 1 for the whole property, if we'd known that family would have brought their own. As a large group in the winter we like to cook & eat in. Although there is plenty of crockery glasses cups etc, there is a bit of a mish mash of utensils, no large serving spoons, bread knife, large sieve or kitchen scissors. We found that the left oven did not heat properly. Would be useful to supply hand towel for the kitchen & the downstairs toilet. Not enough separate bags bedding & towels. The hoover had not been emptied, it was extremely full, no spare bag, and smelt, do the cleaners bring their own? The main bin was full & on the side of the road on arrival Friday! As a large group we produced 3large bags we had to leave at the side of the road.

We were a family party of eleven covering 3 generations and booked Tuffon Hall for us all to celebrate Christmas together.
Based on the photos of the property it looked very spacious and this did not disappoint at all. The whole house is amazing with ample space for our celebrations and at the same time you can also find a quiet corner to read or just chill out. The dining room is stunning, took our breath away and makes you feel like you are in a Manor House! The house was also beautifully decorated for Christmas and the welcome pack was very generous - many thanks. We loved that although the vineyard was closed whilst we were there, there was a selection of wines and gins in the house which you could purchase should you so wish. Tuffon Hall is in a lovely and relaxing setting with plenty of space inside and out plus ample parking too. We would highly recommend this holiday accommodation, do not hesitate to book it. We all had the most amazing time making more special memories for us to cherish! Thank you so much to Liz and her team.
