What our customers say about their holidays

Lucy was fantastic, she was friendly and obliging over text and helping me get in.
The Hut itself is a beautiful thing. I was able to cook easily and one can make the space quite toasty of a chilly evening if you so wish. Its on a very pretty farm; I enjoyed seeing Velvet the pig in the morning from the bathroom window and loved the horse who would often approach the enclosure out of carefree curiosity. The Hut door faces the sunrise. As I was there to meditate and relax, I was delighted to discover the open to public spiritual gardens and yurt of "The Quiet View" only two minutes up the road (give it a google). I really enjoyed the country lane and woodland walks the surrounding area had to offer. I was surprised how quiet and left to my own devices I could get as its only 7 miles from a city. I popped into Canterbury for the Cathedral (and Tesco) and it was only 20 mins on the bus with a £2 card tap. That said, a breezy walk into next village Barham has quite a nice shop and Bishopsbourne the other way had a nice pub and cafe. About 150m up the road from the Hut was a blue plaque for the Sculptor Henry Moore who lived there in the 30s (for any fellow nosy art nerds out there!). A really gorgeous stay, I shall return.

This was more of a âmobile homeâ than a cottage but was pretty comfortable.
It is well sheltered by trees (gets very little sun) and felt just slightly damp - but opening the big door and windows soon cleared that. It has all the equipment and facilities needed but was a little bijou! The shower was a tight squeeze to get into but fine once in it! There were only two of us but I think 4 adults would feel constricted - especially if the weather was bad. We luckily had a week of glorious autumn sunshine. . It is positioned on a fairly quiet lane just off the busy A272. Turning onto and off this road needs patience and maybe a polite driver to let you turn. There are lots of things to do around there, within a 45 minute drive or closer. We particularly enjoyed Standen House (NT), Hever Castle (we were lucky to visit at the same time as a big craft market), Shoreham-by-Sea (pleasant little town), Lewes (get the history walking trail map), Bignor Roman villa and Eastbourne (lovely seafront). Denise was very welcoming (great banana loaf) and was a friendly and unobtrusive host. Look out for the wildlife in the orchard - deer, squirrels, rabbits and birds.

Very compact lodge, which was nice and clean, in a lovely area.
We visited in winter but the decking would be nice to sit out on in better weather and obviously would greatly enlarge the living space available. The bedrooms are very compact with no real space down one side of the bed, one of the bedrooms doesn't really have any space for even a small suitcase although there are a couple of small drawers and some hanging space. The lodge was nice and warm and had a good shower too. We were unable to connect to the wifi and the owner and his son very helpfully came out to reset the router for us but unfortunately the connection was still very patchy and dropped out frequently, we also had limited mobile coverage (O2). The owner did mention that fibre broadband would be available from early January so this should solve that problem. Overall the lodge is very nice and has all the facilities needed to have a nice break but travel light!

The shepherdâs hut was ideally placed in the corner of a field fenced off from the sheep, pig & horse that were close by - if you love farm animals as I do, this is the place for you.
The hut is nicely fitted out & comfortable - obviously space is at a premium but you have everything you need including a little wood burning stove which makes it very cosy. The cooking facilities are quite adequate for one-pot meals or stir-fries - there are 2 rings which are super-fast. You wonât manage to do a roast as there is no oven but there are nearby pubs that do good meals. There is a toaster & a fridge & a separate bathroom with shower. Canterbury is a very short driving distance & is always a delight to visit. Happily back to its busy, buzzing self after Covid. A lovely place to stay - owners provided bread, milk & eggs - what more could you want for a lovely countryside break?

A quiet and cosy home with beautiful scenery to top it all off.
The property was clean, the bathroom and kitchen facilities basic but excellent quality - everything you could need for a little getaway to Kent. Perfect if you want to sightsee Kent, easy and quick drive to Dorset or Canterbury. It is such a charming property with its fireplace indoors and a campfire outside where you can stargaze or just enjoy the peace and quiet. Lucy and her family were great hosts, gifting us a few farming goods for breakfast, very responsive but also respected our space and left us to enjoy our holiday. It was great that the property was dog-friendly as well so we could bring our dog with us.
