  We had a fantastic stay at Rose Cottage in this stunning part of the country.

  The cottage is ideal for escaping the hustle and bustle: peaceful, cosy, with lots of ways to create and take inspiration from the surrounds. There’s a wonderful piano, a guitar, art materials, games and books, and the cottage has a comforting feel from the moment you walk through the door. There are footpaths onto Penistone Hill and the moors just steps away, and the centre of Haworth is close by, with plenty of pubs, cafes, shops, and restaurants to sample. If you are a creative looking for a place to focus on your craft, a couple looking for a romantic getaway, a lover of the outdoors seeking adventure on your doorstep, Rose Cottage has it all. A special mention to for Andy and Jane. Their contact before our stay was second to none. I also highly recommend you check out Pier Pipers Pianos. As well as a chance to tinkle the ivories, they host regular music nights (think the West Yorkshire Tiny Desk Concert!) We had a wonderful evening watching the supremely talented La’l Tethera, and it’s a great way to scratch beneath the surface of this fascinating place.

  Claire Cottage is an ideal cottage for the winter .

  We found it always warm and comfortable during the day and night . The cottage is fitted out perfectly and nothing has been forgotten. The 2 bedrooms have plenty of storage space for clothes and the beds very comfortable . Each bedroom has a bathroom which is very useful . The living room has a comfortable 3 piece suite and a giant TV with all the required apps . The kitchen diner has a warm feel to it and we had a few meals and drinks in it . It also has patio doors leading to a small courtyard. We did not sit out as it was to cold but I bet it is lovely in the summer. The front door leads to a fenced garden which our doggo loved doing zoomies in . Beyond is a large field which belongs to cottage owners also useful for dog walking . I cannot find any faults with this cottage . We have stayed in a few Sykes Cottages now and this the best so far.

  Thank you for allowing us to rent this cottage.

  We had some beautiful weather and walks during our stay. The property was very clean and had some unique features. It was ideally located for shops, pubs & days out. We very much like the piano & guitar and were greatly impressed with the art equipment provided. The lack of a television was of no consequence but the lack of a freezer or ice compartment were. The garden not being private did not bother us but the fact the outside furniture was not suited to lounging or eating alfresco were a huge drawback during the sunshine. The cottage lends itself to Autumn or winter with a fabulous log burner. The bathroom and bedroom are very romantic but the bed is extremely uncomfortable. All in all we enjoyed our stay.

  We had a lovely short stay at Rose Cottage.

  It is a great little hide-away, while at the same time being close to the centre of Howarth. Everything was just as described in the information on the booking site. If you want to be creative, there is an abundance of art material and a piano and guitar. We were out and about most of the time and it was a pleasure to come back to. No TV wasn’t a problem as the WiFi was excellent and in the end we didn’t need it anyway. Great hospitality from the hosts, plenty of helpful information given and lots of guides in a folder at the property. The bottle of wine and fresh flowers was a much appreciated extra. Would definitely stay again in this sweet, cosy cottage.

  Undeniably the best self catering accomodation we have ever visited.

  There were a lot of possibilities for problems as we were there with my 89 year old mum who does have severe arthritis and struggles with quite a few day to day tasks, Every single thing that could go wrong went right in a big way. Super clean but not off putting, super presented it felt like home. Lovely location but not too out of the way, Lots to see and do in the area and we were able to handle the hottest days in 2022 heatwave successfully as on the very hottest day we were comfortable staying in a home from home relaxing and doing our own thing. Welcome back on arrival was stunning (and delicious) So many positives and we can't wait to go back !
