What our customers say about their holidays

Blythe cottage Location of the house is great for those without a car - walking distance to train station, local beaches, shops, cafes and lots of places to eat out.
The house is in a quiet area just next to a quiet pebble beach where local swimmers gather. Weymouth beach is busy but nice - they have a fun fair on the beach, nice sand and swimming too. You're able to hire chairs and windbreaks etc quite cheaply. Felt restful and peaceful but also local things to do if you're interested. House is really lovely - nicely decorated with well equipped kitchen for cooking. Recycling is only possible taking it to local centre so probably not viable unless you have car. Bathroom is downstairs. Stairs are all quite narrow and steep so something to bear in mind if you have mobility issues. Would be suitable for couple, group or family but note that one of the bedrooms leads to another if privacy would be an issue. No streaming accounts pre-given on TV but can sign into your own streaming accounts. Nice garden, but with the sea so close by that's definitely the main draw! Couple notes: toilet seat doesn't currently fit so that needs some attention from the owners/management company. Also, couldn't see that there were any summer (low tog) duvets provided (although may have missed them) - didn't affect us as weather wasn't that warm, but in hotter weather other options would be helpful. There is underfloor heating on the ground floor which we had to turn on as it got a bit chilly, but bear in mind if takes about 3-4 hours to heat up and even then it's only in certain areas. There is a gas fire which we couldn't figure out but to be fair we're not super familiar with them. All in all we had a lovely stay!

Cottage in a fab location and parking a bonus.
Hairs in the bedroom drawers and have to say that the sofa had a dirty smell so we bought some fabreeze to try and make the room smell nicer . When we got home we realised we had left my dogâs grooming stuff in one of the kitchen cupboards, when we rang nothing had been handed in but we were also told that chances were that the cupboard may not have been checked??!! Surely all cupboards should be checked and given a wipe over? The most annoying thing , which is an issue with dream cottages, is that a day before we were due to arrive I read the review about bees in the garden. We had specifically booked this place as it had an outside area to sit in. I contacted Dream Cottages by online chat , told my concerns- travelling with a dog and my elderly parents & I felt we should have been told of this issue( thank goodness none of us suffers from anaphylaxis ) I have to say that we didnât see the swarms of bees mentioned by a previous review but could see a steady stream of bees going to one area of the wall in particular ( into a pipe) So , we didnât use the outside space at all and didnât let our dog go out either . Kept the windows shut and made use of the fans. Iâm annoyed that I requested that someone from Dream Cottages should contact me and no one has. Not the owners fault but badly managed by Dream Cottages and poor communication.

A lovely week spent in beautiful Weymouth.
The house was very nicely presented and everything you could expect on arrival. All clean and comfortable. As a 6'6" man I struggled with the size of property overall, the low ceilings and narrow staircases were expected. The bedroom set ups could possibly be configured better, as due to my size I could only fit in the single beds! The top floor bedroom was beautiful but the bed was too small to sleep comfortably. The stairs to the top floor are very steep and narrow. I think the double room on 1st floor could have suited a bunk bed, and the single room on 1st floor could have double bed, to make for a roomier set-up overall. These size related issues aside, the property was perfectly situated for all what Weymouth has to offer, pubs, restaurants and walks to Nothe Fort and Gardens, Beach and shopping all walking distance. Recommended vists: Walk to Castle Cove along the Rodwell trail, see the castle and beautiful secluded cove below. Nothe Fort and Gardens, well worth a visit. Boho Gelato in the harbour - the very best ice cream. Driftwood Pizza restaurant in the harbour - lovely friendly service and great food. Finally - beware the seagulls! They've obviously got the memo from the Cornish seagulls, and stake out your fish and chip dinner!

Although we had a lovely holiday in Weymouth we would not stay at Brewers House again.
Parts of the property could do with being updated and the beds were very soft (personal preference I know). There were issues with both sets of neighbours and we constantly felt like we were being watched. We had some music playing in the garden (not loud) and because it was a windy day one neighbour asked us to turn it down as it was carrying in the wind. He also told us he was having some work carried out on his property and that there would be noise (of which there was) but luckily we were out during the day so we avoided this. The other neighbour questioned the light which was left on in the garden, of which was on when we arrived. He asked us to turn it off, he stated it was quite a simple task, and if we needed assistance we could give him the keys and he would pop in whilst we were out during the day to do it for us! In fact you could not turn the power to the light off without turning the power to the garage door off, and as we were using the garage it was on the majority of the time We did turn the power off in the evening to turn the light off but it was supposed to be a sensor light of which the sensor wasn't working otherwise it wouldn't have been on all the time.

This is a lovely cottage close to the centre of Weymouth.
It looks like itâs been recently painted/refurbed, with lots of quirky little touches. Beds are comfortable and kitchen it well equipped, although more tall glasses needed . Nice size dining table. It was nice and clean. Nice views of sea just outside front door. Quiet location. The parking situation is a bit of a pain, parking is 5 minutes walk from cottage to carpark and the pavement situation in between is not the best, so bringing bags plus children back and fourth was not ideal. Be warned the stairs are very steep and the landing area very tight. So you have to be quite mobile and the set up did make me nervous with 4 year old. However my 8 year old, loved the loft space. The only toilet/shower is downstairs. Shower is fine but the toilet seat was awful. It was broken and incorrect fit for toilet, so kept throwing you off/sliding about. The sofa is uncomfortable and could do with some investment. Easy to get into town and close to Nothe Fort, nice watching the swimmers from the small bay at bottom of stairs.
