  What An Amazing Cottage And lovelyHoliday.

  We received a lovely warm friendly welcome from Angus upon our arrival to the cottage and a full tour of the facilities which was nice and set us up for the week. Lovely to find milk and cheese a bottle of wine cakes and grapes tea coffee and sugar a really thoughtful touch. The cottage is amazing absolutely spotlessly clean and spacious and furnished to a very high standard there is everything provided. The bed is super comfy and the bath is lovely with plenty of hot water. The cottage is warm and even has a log burner if you want a cosy night infront of the fire. The grounds are stunning with a table and chairs for a glass of wine while watching the sun go down. I really enjoyed the peace and quiet the property provided it was so relaxing and a perfect place to unwind. The location is superb and very close to Berwick and Holy Island etc. Angus provided us with lots of hints and tips on the local area for our bird and nature watching and it paid off we saw some lovely new birds we hadn't seen before and seals dolphins and otters. Nothing was too much trouble for Angus he was always on hand to answer any questions etc a fantastic host.   Our stay at The Lazy Seal was great!

  The property was easy to find and easy to access when we arrived. Travelling in 2 cars I was concerned that having no private parking would have been a problem but there was always plenty of parking on the street at all times of day. When we arrived the property was spotlessly clean and included lots of lovely welcoming touches including Halloween sweets for the kids, chocolate bees in the kids room and a chocolate treat in the other bedrooms. As others have mentioned the welcome pack including bread, milk, cereals and Noah’s eggs was much appreciated. The Wi-Fi was easy to access and very reliable, much appreciated with 2 kids with iPads! Some key items that were available at the property but not included on the property listing were nespresso coffee machine, hairdryer, iron and ironing board. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash and hand soap were also provided in the bathroom. There was also a nice collection of toys and books for the children. The location was good with the beach in easy walking distance and the local shop just down the road. We didn’t need to have much contact with the owners but any time we did Tracey was lovely. Would definitely recommend a stay here and we would definitely go back.

  Stayed here as a family with a toddler and small dog.

  Apartment is ground floor which made it easier with my toddler and the pram and was so spacious! Highchair and travel cot was provided too we just needed to bring our own mattress for the travel cot and bed linen for it. There was also plastic plates and bowls too and a box of toys so thoughtful which made our stay so much easier. Apartment came with a welcome pack with eggs, bread, milk and chocolate biscuits. There was other additional bonuses too laundry pods, tea/coffee/sugar sachets. Rooms were super comfortable and towels provided. Smart TV in main bedroom and livingroom so you can log into netflix/watch youtube. Log fire and starter pack for the log fire. Location was great the playground and splash park and small arcade was just round the corner right next to the beach. Beach was also dog friendly. 25 minute walk to Berwick where we got the train to Edinburgh. Rooms do get light so the only thing i would add is curtains to make it blackout on top of the blinds and also a mop for any spillages

  Stayed in Beehive barn before lockdown and it was perfect…maybe due to it being new.

  This visit I felt that attention to detail was lacking. ie… the corner sofa had human hair behind the large cusions, lots of it! Shower cubicle in small double needs attention, black mould, and toilet seat urine stained. Outdoor furniture at front covered in green mould and out back the circular picnic table couldn’t be used due to sever paint peel which made it very uncomfortable to sit on. Weather was great while we were there and would have been lovely to eat outside. Lock on front door needs attention. When locked from inside on two occasions we had difficulty opening it (it seemed to jam) which obviously in the event of a fire would be an issue. I am very familiar with keysafes due to my line of work. Again this needs attention as it was difficult to close Kitchen was amazing and very well equipped, lounge delightful too

  We had a wonderful stay.

  The cottage is very well equipped and is perfectly located just off the A1, making it very accessible to all the local attractions. With Holy Island just a couple of miles down the road and Edinburgh just 60 miles further north, it’s in a great position. The cottage has a very large garden looking out onto fields of sheep and with views out to sea, Holy Islands and in the far distance, Bamburgh castle. Kitchen is very well equipped, lounge is comfy and snug with a log burner. Beds very comfortable. If I was to be super picky, it’s would be useful to have some bath sheets. Whilst there’s plenty of towels, it’s nice to have a big towel and the lighting in the kitchen might be a bit dim for some with poorer vision. Otherwise, really can’t fault the cottage and the attentiveness of the owners.
