What our customers say about their holidays

This cottage is amazing.
The location is perfect - you can stand at the kitchen sink and look directly out into the mountains. As soon as we stepped out of the front door we had a choice of several different walks to go on. Strike upwards for the mountain or the upper Stiwnog reservoir, or down to the lower reservoir or into Blaenau Ffestiniog, we did both. We also had a kickabout on the school football pitch at the bottom of the hill. The cottage itself feels fresh and light. There is a modern kitchen with a huge window letting in tons of light separated by a door from a very comfortable sitting room and a log burner set in a fireplace with tons of character. Lots of room in the fireplace to store all the logs we needed for the evening so no need to go anywhere once we had settled down. The bathroom was clean and fresh with a modern finish and another fab view of the mountain. The bedrooms are clean and comfortable. They both have wardrobes so there was plenty of storage for our clothes and space to stow the suitcases. To cap it off there is a shallow feeder pool for the reservoir about 100m away from the cottage that is perfect for skimming stones and paddling in. We spent a few hours there on our way back to the cottage when our son wasnât quite ready to go home yet. We had a super relaxing stay and really enjoyed our time here. Thanks.

What an amazing location/views and an absolutely lovely cottage!
Thanks so much to Rob and Debbie for going out of their way to get our WIFI and TV fixed (through no fault of theirs) during our stay, and for their kindness and hospitality in making us feel welcomed and looked after. I've been coming to Snowdonia for over 25 years and love it, and I have stayed in many holiday cottages over this time but few I would return to if I'm honest...however 19 Cwmorthin Road is not one of them and I will definitely be returning as often as I can afford!! Brilliant location with lots of mountains, rivers, waterfalls, lakes and slate quarries to explore - all from the front door. The cottage is clean, lovely kitchen, and bathroom and bedrooms are perfect. The only suggestion I would have is to reinstate the cottage handbook, to help with how to use equipment, recycling, etc., however Rob did mention that it is currently being updated. Wonderful place to stay both in terms of location, and the cottage itself and its reasonably priced too!! Thanks Rob & Debbie x

Although directly on the lane down to Llandona Beach the cottage is located in a quiet and untouched area even by Anglesey standards.
One local said âSchhhâ donât tell anybody.....there are no caravan parks and little tourist accommodation. The garden area overlooking Red Wharf Bay is actually across the lane and would really be for use in exceptionally good weather or by families for the play area. The view from the cottageâs small patio was equally good and ideal for a late afternoon or early evening sit in the sunshine. Apart from the many other great spots on Anglesey we particularly recommend circular walks along the coast in either direction...to the idyllic Fedr Fawr cove or around to Red Wharf returning via the lovely woodland or vice versa. The 7 minute walk to the pub is worth it for a change and has pleasant staff, but it is neither touristy or anything special food wise.

This is a beautiful cottage, located right in the mountains.
The view from the kitchen says it all. The cottage is in immaculate condition with everything you need, the lounge is cute and comfortable, The beds were great (my son loved his mountain view) we slept well however, itâs worth noting if you are a light sleeper there is a cockerel over the road that woke us up every morning , but we quite liked it. The location of this cottage is perfect if you like walking , we were blown away by the walks to the slate mountain which are on the doorstep. Owners were friendly, we received a call a few days before from Rob with all the information we needed, complimentary eggs on our arrival. Would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone . Thanks

This cottage is fantastic and the accommodation is immaculate and of a very high standard.
The kitchen facilities are brilliant with good quality appliances. The views from the cottage are breathtaking, even when it rained as it created beautiful waterfalls. The owner is very friendly and helpful. The only issue we had was with the information that Sykes gave us regarding the key collection. This needs updating as you canât get through the back gate and the key safe is at the front door. The code we were given was also incorrect and the owner has advised Sykes of this repeatedly. Our only regret is that we didnât book for 2 weeks instead of 1. We will be back!
