What our customers say about their holidays

Sykes description of this property, in my opinion, is a misrepresentation.
It does not have a combination microwave ,but a normal one .. no dining table only a nest of tables .. we could not cook anything so had to eat out every day...when we ate at the property we had to eat off two trays... no bath only a shower .. no adequate storage facilities. .. we had to live out of our suit cases on the living room floor There was a small clothes rail and a basket filled with blankets, located in the living room .. the bed was positioned next to the wall so had to climb over each other. Storage was one underbed drawer full of blankets etc. To drive out of the property we had to reverse out on to the main road due to other vehicles that were in the driveway. . This is not a barn conversion,in my opinion, but a large garage conversion. .. the outside wall is next to the road and every time a vehicle goes over a grate in the road it sounds through the property .. the sofa was covered with two throws and was not stylish in any respect and uncomfortable. The property was cramped and not what we expected for £616 a week. .. The owners were very nice people and the welcome gift of cream scones and wine was a nice gesture .. we agree the property was clean and tidy but that does not make up for a weeks holiday accomodation which was not what we expected.. had a true description of the property been advertised we would not have booked it. ..Too small and cramped for two people. ... We booked 2 Stonerush cottages- this is not the cabin that we got.
We were put in number 4 which was completely different to the one we had booked. I was slightly put out by this as it was a lot smaller and didnât have a separate kitchen area nor the 2 bathrooms that we had booked with number 2. Upon arrival the tv did not work, the hot tub did not work and we had a leak in the ceiling. Also to add to this the hot tub area was not private at all- with dog walkers constantly passing by and staring in at us. We booked number 2 as it was set back and had a big wooden fence around the hot tub. The hot tub was repaired by about 2pm the next afternoon so it meant a whole evening and half of our day Friday we couldnât make use of it. When we reported the tv and the leak to reception in fairness the maintenance guy was round in 5 minutes however there wasnât a lot he could do to fix the tv nor the leak so we had to make do. We were hoping to book again with you in the summer but upon looking at the prices- double what we paid for our stay this weekend. I couldnât justify this price for the level of disappointment of our stay. If I had wanted to stay in 4 Stonerush I would have booked it. The fact we looked at all the available options and purposely booked number 2 for its level of privacy and the large space and then were not given this lodge I think is unacceptable.

We had a lovely 7 days at 2 Stonerush Valley in April 23.
Location is quite isolated (18 mins from nearest Morrisons) but what you get is worth it; total peace and relaxation. This particular property is one of the most private on site and not overlooked by others (meaning my dog couldnât see as much so less barking!). We didnât leave for the first 3 days! We just enjoyed the property, sounds from the stream below, the birds singing in the trees and use of the hot tub under the starry sky. The whole site is so quiet that there is an abundance of wildlife close by, and with limited outdoor lighting on site it is perfect for star gazing! The onsite pub offers friendly service and good food and there are some incredible beaches within an hours drive on the north coast - we visited Perranporth but there are plenty to choose from, all stunning. Weâd definitely recommend this lodge, well equipped, tidy, daily hot tub maintenance service provided. A very comfortable, and relaxing stay. 100% recommend.

Our stay was overall quite enjoyable with many positive aspects, including the spacious accommodations, pleasant weather, beautiful views, a secluded atmosphere, and the added bonus of a hot tub.
All of these amenities were as accurately described in the listing. However, upon our arrival, we discovered that the cleaners had not completed their duties. This caused us to wait around before being able to fully relax. Additionally, it seemed as though the cleaners may have rushed through their tasks, as they had missed certain areas such as corners, door shuts, and the decked area. As for the site itself, the location was stunning and the grounds were well-maintained. Unfortunately, we found the footpaths to be quite inaccessible. Even the lakeside walk, which started off promising, quickly led to multiple dead ends and ultimately forced us to backtrack. Could the attention to detail be better? most definitely, Would we come again? most definately.

7 valley view is a lovely comfortable lodge in great location, immediately felt at home.
Well equipped with dishwasher and washing machine, and good selection of plates, cutlery, saucepans etc. Lodge was very clean and well maintained. The location of the lodge surrounded by hedging and small trees gave a feeling of being immersed in nature, waking up listening to the birds every morning. We hadn't visited Stonerush for a few years as it had declined and lodges were very tired, but new management have completely turned it around. Customer service team helpful and friendly, and quickly responded to my enquiry regarding if decking area had a gate (it does). Thank you also to Darren from Sykes who helped me with more info on lodge than was on listing. Great lodge and location, will definitely be back.
