What our customers say about their holidays
Hayley - Verified booking
We cut our break short my husband wanted to leave the moment we arrived but we stayed until the Thursday.
The cleaner was still there when we arrived at about 3.30 on Sunday the place is Friday change so expected it to be ready . There was lots of damp/dirt in the bathroom and twin room, found a wet dirty towel on the back of our bedroom door. Kitchen hot water tap had no pressure and no hot water maintenance man came and told us we had to boast the water heater. Lack of information about anything on the site or in the chalet , swimming pool was good grandson used it every day partly because there was nothing else to do , the key for the swimming pool area did not work so had to get someone from reception to let us in , they told us we werenât the first person staying at 48 to have this problem it needs sorting. The overall holiday was very disappointing. The site entrance is rough looking the buildings are tired and badly maintained and the first impression is bad , the empty pub/ restaurant area is a shame to see and the was not great . The children park needs maintenance also some bits were dangerous . Some of the window catches are stuck closed so couldnât open them in the case of a fire it would be dangerous. The shower knob was very hard to turn on and off husband had to turn it off because we couldnât. The taps in bathroom sink need changing as they were very hard to turn too . Would not recommend staying here to anyone.

This is a property at the end of the line, so incredibly quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed watching the birds, particularly the blue tit family nesting in the heating unit outside the kitchen window. A good base for walking to Oxwich and Port Eynon, along the coast, with Rhossili a short drive away. Be warned that the route along the coast and through the woods to Oxwich has some ups and downs. Sadly Oxwich Castle was closed due to the Pandemic. Mumbles is a buzzy place to visit with cafes overlooking Swansea Bay and a road out to the Lifeboat Station and the lighthouse beyond. Low Kiln Bank was very adequate for the 2 of us and gave us what we needed. My only gripe is that one small toilet roll felt mean and shops are not immediately accessible. There is one a short walk or drive away, but it was very limited in what it sold. It would be helpful to warn visitors that they would need, either to bring a basic household/food kit with them or accept that maybe Mumbles is the nearest shopping option. Having said that, we were warned to take certain items in the light of the pandemic.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our weeks stay at The Vale, despite the lack of and previous reviews we were very sceptical what to expect. The only negative was the hot water situation as mentioned, we only were able to enjoy the fabulous bath on the first day other than that the water ran lukewarm. The location was amazing, so many beaches to visit with our dogs within 15 mins drive. We book properties that suit or reactive dog, so pleased to say the property was FULLY enclosed for our large Rottweiler, meaning we could all have a laid back experience. Hot tub and garden furniture were amazing in the sunshine, the main bed was so comfy, everything we needed was in the house. We shall be looking to book again next year, we wanted to return in September but no availability for our dates. Overall we loved it and would highly recommend. Best property in the area.

The property clearly had the potential to be 4 star and maybe it was 10 years ago. Crockery was chipped, pans all scratched and dirty utensils in the drawer. The patio doors ( main viewing point were dirty between the panes of glass and the frame and veranda decorated with encrusted bird muck. The fridge was on maximum and very noisy and was clearly not working properly. There were damp issues with the bathroom as it was cut into the hillside but that was clean and they had tried to address that. The coverlet on the bed was stained and we were asked to strip the bed , we started but when we saw the duvet we were horrified and left it. However the location was fantastic and we had a good time in spite of these issues, most of which could be easily sorted if the property was checked regularly.

Wonderful Cottage/Chalet in an idyllic setting! The whole home was clean, modern and has everything you need to facilitate your stay next to the water. Everyone enjoyed tucking in to our welcome hamper, and the decoration and thoughtful touches around the place made it feel really homely for us (we stayed over Christmas). I think our dog had the best time of all, running free on the beach and exploring! Memorable moments for us included, bird watching, train spotting and listening to the crackle of the wood fire and the waves crashing on the beach of an evening. Thank you! We would definitely recommend if you are looking for a peaceful getaway next to the sea with all the comforts of home.
