  We really enjoyed our stay, although the neighbours were extremely difficult.

  When we arrived we pulled into the bay by the property to unload our belongings, a young woman from the house in front of the bay immediately came out and shouted at us, she also insulted me when I told her we were only unpacking our stuff, we didn’t plan on parking there. The lady at the back said there’s been a lot of bother from them; however they didn’t bother us again. Then my husband and I were in the kitchen with the door open at the back when a large dog came bounding through the door and tried to attack me, my husband threw water on it and was able to intimidate the dog so that it moved and we managed to barricade ourselves behind the back door until finally my husband closed the door. I was quite shaken by the experience. My husband shouted through the window for the neighbour at the end to get his dog- he didn’t and it continued to bark aggressively at us from behind the door; bearing its teeth and ready to attack when we tried to open/close the door window to shout to the man. He was actually hiding behind his gate as we could see him ducking behind the door. I’m concerned that if I had have been a child or my new 12 week old puppy- this would have been a sad story. I loved the cottage though, so beautiful, comfortable and clean. I would say that I wouldn’t take children or elderly people, just in case. Unless the problem is resolved but how could you resolve this? I would not allow this to stop you renting this property- it really is that good, just be careful about the parking and be careful in the shared backyard where there’s no gate between you and the end neighbours with the dog. (The neighbour has a gate but he’d obviously opened it to let his dog out). Ok, so the garden is absolutely gorgeous, very quirky set up on two/three levels. Lovely lady lives next door feeds the seagulls everyday, be careful there’s loads of them that flock there- not a problem for us as we weren’t home in the morning. BBQ area is pleasantly arranged and plenty of seating and cushions. The lights didn’t work when we were there, but we weren’t in the garden late anyway. Overall I would stay here again because it felt very homely, but I’d be extremely careful out the back door in the communal yard part. We never saw the dog before or after it attacked us. There is a gate on the main garden and it’s one step from the back door. Just be careful as you always are in public areas. And don’t speak to the house on the left of the property, very rude. The heating was perfect, bedding ok, decor and condition of the place was just right and spotlessly clean. In a near perfect location. Two large Terraces that look across the bay- stunning.   Beautiful little cottage, surprisingly spacious with 2 living rooms.

  Me, my husband, and our dog spent 5 nights here at the end of January 2025. We'd have our morning coffee in the front lounge as this was a much brighter room first thing, then settle down in the rear living room in the evening after a day out exploring. There are plenty of DVDs to watch, however we didn't use them as we took our Firestick. Thete are 2 large bedrooms, the master has plenty of storage with huge wardrobe space. The dining area is super cosy, especially at night with the little fairy lights glowing on the tree. Kitchen has all the mod cons and everything we needed. Location wise, the cottage is situated just 2 minutes away from the River Ribble for exercising the dog, plus a lovely church with a historic graveyard to explore - if you're into that kind of thing!! The White Bull is a 2 minute walk in the opposite direction, although it was closed Monday and Tuesday, as was the Black Bull, which is a further 5 minutes down the road. We highly recommend the Ribchester Arms, which is approximately a 10 minute walk from the cottage, they do delicious and very reasonably priced meals all day. Parking is available on the main road outside the cottage. All in all, a lovely, peaceful and relaxing break.

  We visited Skirden View cottage for a home away from home trip with our dog.

  We often eye up small cottages that have a modern feel, quiet sites and beautiful views, and this location was just the option we needed. We took full advantage of the hot tub facilities in the good weather, despite there being no covering over the hot tub, it was a beautiful view looking over the fields and the animals past the farm. The amenities and welcome hamper were so well thought out, and most items of household goods in the kitchen/living space were available, especially if you have booked a longer stay. We visited lots of the local pubs, especially the local, The Spread Eagle for a few meals. They were very welcoming, had a great variety of theme nights, good food/drink and dog friendly! If you are looking for somewhere to go for nice walks within a 30 minute drive, Bolton Abbey Ruins and Malham Cove (for any of you Harry Potter fans) were well worth the tough walks - make sure to bring walking boots! We would definitely look to come back to this location again, and thank the hosts for an amazing stay. Thank you!

  This truly was a 'Cosy Cottage', perfect for us (2 adults + 1 dog). The information & communication regarding the holiday was absolutely outstanding. ALL information needed was provided, with clear instructions for everything. The cottage was beautiful, clean, tidy, cosy, well equipped, so peaceful and comforting. The cottage is located in beautiful Kirkby Lonsdale, which had everything we needed & more! The only concerns I had when booking was the parking + no garden. I was not sure how that would work for us, but I thought I'd try, and I'm so glad we did. The parking was not an issue at all. There were parking permits provided by the cottage with every bit of information needed with it. There is also green area's very close to the cottage which we were informed about to give our dog toilet breaks, which worked for us absolutely fine. Overall, our holiday was amazing & most definitely made perfect by this lovely little cottage. Thank you so much Allan & Michelle for making our first visit to the lake district a memorable one.

  We stayed in Cosy Cott 22-29th sept 23.

  Kirkby Lonsdale is a very Characterful village with good amenities. Cosy Cottg' is aprox 3 min stroll to Kirkby's main street & 5 min stroll to Booths supermarket. We especially appreciated the high standard of cleanliness, which so many holiday homes lack. It has a high standard of quality furnishings. However, as older people with back problems, we found the seating wasn't comfortable enough for us. The yard isn't pleasant enough to sit in, but was useful for dog toileting. We tried to put the little table up but it was too cumbersome to use and we missed eating at a table. The bed was comfie & was very clean!! The bathroom & shower are lovely. The things that let it down "slightly" for us: parking was hit and miss & sometimes further than we'd like. The bathroom needs a blind for privacy. It would be more comfortable with a small foot stool & rug in the lounge. But overall we recommend this cottg' it's small but very, very nice. 10/10 for hygiene. Thanks to the owners for a lovely stay.
