  What a delightful cottage! And so easy to book online! Great aspect and we didn't mind the short walk to the church car park - we visited the church before leaving: Recommended. Had the best of both worlds as the cottage is low ceilings and timber beams, crooked walls and floors, not one stair matches another, all very quaint, whilst the kitchen is new and full of mod-cons. Plenty of lovely fluffy towels of varying sizes; lots of kitchen tea towels (and a pinny!). We all found the beds comfy, and slept really well. The little garden was perfect for our dog, contained her yet permitted a little nosy at the neighbours in the driveway behind. I was quite happy sitting there in the morning sun with my dog and a cuppa whilst the teenagers did what teenagers do: wasted the morning sleeping! We found the cottage well placed to visit the North Devon beaches and coastal towns, non of which were too far away. The narrow roads were interesting and we seemed to have no problems despite visiting during the height of the season. We love it! It took no time to feel like home. Thank you for having us.   We had a lovely week staying at Monks cottage. It's located in a quiet area but still close enough to shops,pub and restaurants. The garden was an added bonus which our dogs loved and looked well cared for. The downside was the very slow WIFI, no reception on phones inside either. The ceilings are very low and we did bang our heads a few times. Clattering up the stairs with the hoover was very challenging as steps very uneven and low doorways. Only had to do it once though so all good. Would recommend if you can live without proper WIFI and are the size of a hobbit.

  The bungalow is easily found and is a great location for the town and Staunton sands beach. Bus stop very short walk away, In a very quiet estate, close to nearby fields ideal for walking the dog. On arrival it was lovely and warm. Spotlessly clean, apart from the toilet seat. Beds and sofa were very comfortable. Smart tv has plenty of channels and apps, Internet is fast. The kitchen is very well equipped, dishwasher with tablets provided, washing up liquid and cloths provided. Nice selection of coffee,tea,hot chocolate, milk and cookies provided :)

  We have recently spent 5 wonderful days at Gladstone. The house gave us, and our 2 dogs, everything that we could have possibly needed. Cosy settees, a log burner should it be needed (the house was super warm), fully equipped kitchen and a truly comfortable bed. We spent our days hiking the beautiful beaches locally, the evenings relaxing at the house. We visited the Black Horse Pub one evening, which is very conveniently next door to the house. First class food and service. We will definitely visit again.

  Quirky cottage in a fairly isolated location. The local pub, the Williams Arms, was very good but walk is down/up very steep hill on narrow road with no pavement. Cottage has good facilities, except wifi. There is a router but still the signal is very weak. There is a tiny tv which has Netflix but the signal wasn't strong enough to actually launch Netflix. Heating is storage heaters so very little control, 2 of the bedrooms were incredibly hot!
