  Adorable cottage, in adorable setting.

  Was greeted with a warm welcome from our Host Elaine, and "Ben". After which we decamped, from the car, and found our inviting space, in living room and bedrooms. We took our cream tea, that was prepared for us to the seating area in the garden and enjoyed the last moment of the "golden hour". We thoroughly enjoyed our relax and recuperation chilling in the evenings, and our sleep was great each night. Owls nest was in a convenient spot for getting to the coastline each day. We enjoyed our visit to Saunton, once in rainy conditions and the following day in sunshine. We used our last day to pack up our stuff in relaxed situation, and left with happy hearts before leaving to visit Lynton. As it was a birthday treat and holiday for one of the grandchildren, I think the choice was excellent, and went down well and enjoyed by all. One of the nicest choices made in this area, would I go again... Most certainly.

  What a super week we enjoyed in Owl's Nest cottage at Poadmarsh Farm.

  Elaine and Michael were so kind and welcoming allowing our 15 year old daughter to help bottle feed Hector the lamb and even taking her out to the top fields to meet the other sheep! We were greeted with homemade cake and tea which was lovely after rather a long 'Bank holiday' type journey! There are lots of places to visit within a 45 minute drive and the accommodation is perfect for dog owners. The kitchen is perfectly equipped and there is a private garden (accessed to the left of the front door, not from within the property itself) backing onto fields of sheep and perfect for a BBQ. The beds were comfy and the cottage was super clean with homely touches. We left feeling relaxed and recharged and can't believe we have never explored this little corner of England before now. If you want a lovely 2 bedroomed cottage to do the same, don't hesitate in booking this little gem!

  The Owls nest is a great little cottage.

  When I saw it advertised on the internet i thought that's just what I need to get away from the hustle & bustle, just to take it easy and relax, but not too far from the beach or the shops. Elaine was there to meet us on our arrival. She is such a lovely caring and helpful lady, nothing was too much trouble for her. Then when we get inside WOW,lovely kitchen, real comfortable sitting area.Nice bathroom with bath and shower. 2 double bedrooms. Everything spotlessly clean, just perfect. Thankyou so much Elaine & Mike for helping make our stay at The Owls nest so enjoyable. Hope to see you again next year. From Gloria &John

  Quaint cottage in beautiful quiet village.

  Good Points - kitchen extremely well stocked with cutlery/utensils/pots/pans/plates etc, Overall cleanliness standard high, central heating worked well, plenty of hot water, comfy bed, modern looking bathroom, double oven worked well. Bad points - Wardrobe in main bedroom difficult to open, left open for the week in fear it would not open again, blankets on sofas were covered in dog hair and not washed, shower pressure EXTREMELY bad, bathroom ceiling not high enough for flat overhead attachment, which made it difficult to use other attachment. All the windows are locked down and difficult to open.

  Thorny tallet is a perfect place to stay for a peaceful break doing nothing or as base for walking the Devonshire countryside or exploring further afield by transport .

  Everything you need is inside the property . The beds are really comfortable and the whole place was spotless on arrival . It is of course dog friendly and the ground floor is sensibly tiled to suit . The property is actually a bit further down the lane than any sat nav will tell you but the property is clearly signed on a farm gate at the top of the drive . Follow the golf club and hotel signs initially and you won’t go wrong . All in all a fabulous place in Devonshire farmland and one we will use again when we are in the okehampton district ! TMC
