What our customers say about their holidays

We stayed in Pheasants lodge for a week in July.
2 x adults and 1 x 16 year old girl. On arrival we were very impressed with all the home comforts and touches. It was super clean and smelt fresh. The lodge is well stocked with pretty much everything you will need. Lots of space and storage too. The outside area was a lovely surprise, it had the sun all day and there was not only a table and chairs to eat outside, but also a nice little sofa set to relax on. It is dog friendly but we decided not to bring our dog last minute as she had been unwell. However, the place is perfect for dogs, the porch is enclosed all the way round and there is plenty of space inside. It didnât smell of dog at all either. The location was perfect for everything we planned to do. We found it was quite central to our plans. The wifi for the park is not great, this is not the fault of the lodge but the park. However we werenât bothered as we came away to unplug and enjoy being outside and away from technology. We would recommend the lodge to friends and family. Thanks so much.

First stay at pheasants nest.
Lovely lodge, clean and very well maintained . Well equipped. Very comfy sofa and bed, but pillows not fit for purpose (or clean) need replacing. Disappointed that the finishing âhome from homeâ touches were not provided as in other lodges weâve been to on site. Eg lack of spare toilet roll; liquid soap at all sinks; Washing up liquid bottle had quite literally two squirts in it. Yes 3 dishwasher tablets were provided but for 7 days?? No salt and pepper provided. No small carton of milk or any tea/coffee provided. Which is always a very welcome and much appreciated gesture after a long journey. No spare kitchen bin liners. I could go on ; whilst these may seem little things nowadays people expect them to be provided (& were in other privately owned lodges weâve stayed in, so I suppose we had come to expect) especially as the cost of hiring the three lodges weâve booked and stayed in at Limefitt this year has gone up dramatically.

We had a lovely stay at Garuda.
The lodge was well laid out and comfortable. There were a few very minor things that we thought could be improved however this didnât cause any major inconveniences. One being that there was no where for us to store the dried food that we had brought, all of the cupboards were full of cups, glasses, plates etc. we thought there were too many when the lodge is designed for 6 people one each of everything would have been enough. Also I wasnât able to find a charger for the Hoover, having a dog and a baby, this would have been useful. The WiFi is also terrible however I appreciate this is a parc issue and is not something the owners can control. Also we were there to relax and have screen breaks so it wasnât a huge issue! Overall however our stay was really enjoyable and I would rebook in the future. Thank you!

Sykes have been brilliant at prearrival information and helpful guides to the local area.
The property is really well equipped for a family. We've never had such well stocked kitchen equipment and having a hoover and dustpan is really helpful on a active holiday to maintain a clean living space. Having the dishwasher maximises quality time and a washing machine so handy to rinse and spin wetsuits etc after a full day on the lake. If we'd known there would be a hairdryer and USB points it would've saved some packing but a pleasent surprise (as was the vase of fresh flowers on arrival!). The lodge is ideally placed for walking to Windermere, Ambleside and Bowness so being able to ditch the car was great too. We will definitely be using Sykes again and probably to stay at Garuda. Thank you

The location was ideal for exploring the lakes.
Shops and pubs where within easy walking distance. The kitchen had plenty of pans, cutlery and crockery but was lacking in cooking utensils, particularly sharp knives, With regards to cleaning it was disappointing to find an easy to see item t had been left on the floor and a plastic clip on a windowsill which we disposed of, also on moving the sofa to sit around the table we found the floor to be dusty underneath. In the bathroom hairs had been left in the bath. We all felt the property although generally clean would benefit from a deep clean including the communal areas. It would have made our stay easier if the 4 keys provide were labelled clearly to which door they unlocked.
