  We really enjoyed our stay, although the neighbours were extremely difficult.

  When we arrived we pulled into the bay by the property to unload our belongings, a young woman from the house in front of the bay immediately came out and shouted at us, she also insulted me when I told her we were only unpacking our stuff, we didn’t plan on parking there. The lady at the back said there’s been a lot of bother from them; however they didn’t bother us again. Then my husband and I were in the kitchen with the door open at the back when a large dog came bounding through the door and tried to attack me, my husband threw water on it and was able to intimidate the dog so that it moved and we managed to barricade ourselves behind the back door until finally my husband closed the door. I was quite shaken by the experience. My husband shouted through the window for the neighbour at the end to get his dog- he didn’t and it continued to bark aggressively at us from behind the door; bearing its teeth and ready to attack when we tried to open/close the door window to shout to the man. He was actually hiding behind his gate as we could see him ducking behind the door. I’m concerned that if I had have been a child or my new 12 week old puppy- this would have been a sad story. I loved the cottage though, so beautiful, comfortable and clean. I would say that I wouldn’t take children or elderly people, just in case. Unless the problem is resolved but how could you resolve this? I would not allow this to stop you renting this property- it really is that good, just be careful about the parking and be careful in the shared backyard where there’s no gate between you and the end neighbours with the dog. (The neighbour has a gate but he’d obviously opened it to let his dog out). Ok, so the garden is absolutely gorgeous, very quirky set up on two/three levels. Lovely lady lives next door feeds the seagulls everyday, be careful there’s loads of them that flock there- not a problem for us as we weren’t home in the morning. BBQ area is pleasantly arranged and plenty of seating and cushions. The lights didn’t work when we were there, but we weren’t in the garden late anyway. Overall I would stay here again because it felt very homely, but I’d be extremely careful out the back door in the communal yard part. We never saw the dog before or after it attacked us. There is a gate on the main garden and it’s one step from the back door. Just be careful as you always are in public areas. And don’t speak to the house on the left of the property, very rude. The heating was perfect, bedding ok, decor and condition of the place was just right and spotlessly clean. In a near perfect location. Two large Terraces that look across the bay- stunning.   On arrival we were greeted with a foul smell in the kitchen.

  On inspection we discovered a dried spillage that seemed to have been there for some time. We had to clean the fridge before we could put out food away. We also had to clean the cutlery drawer and its contents as it was sticky and greasy. The pans especially the frying pan was dirty with stuck on food. As the keys are stored in a combination key pad we didn’t even know the owners were on site to deal with this issue until we had cleaned up the mess and read the manual. By this time the clean up had taken place. We did send the owners one of the photographs we had taken to show them. We stay with Sykes regularly and this has never happened before. We rang the owners the following day with a heater query as the apartment was cold due to the heaters being on a timer. We mentioned the smell and the spillage and they blamed it on the previous occupants. But the fact that they never checked the kitchen area before we arrived is not the previous occupants fault. This should have been done before we arrived for our stay. The aerial connection on the TV was poor and intermittent so watching a programme from start to finish was impossible. When we messaged the owners for advice they did not respond to help us with a solution.

  A cosy 70's style retro flat.

  Lovely living room with nicely.placed tall lamps. A kitchen perfect for two and a cute dog mat for dog bowls. The bedroom was beautiful,warm and intimate. The bathroom had a modern feel and just big enough for two. I enjoyed lounging on the sofa with the comfy throw. I was able to rest,relax and enjoy my birthday. The added touches of biscuits and jam were welcome. The filtered coffee was too posh for me. I appreciated the card and small chocolates for my birthday. The garden that I had a quick look round with the dog was nicely laid out with the added touch of fresh herbs for the cooks. It would be nice place to sit in the summer. The off road parking was good too. Owners were helpful with my little queries and quick to respond. Overall an enjoyable stay I would recommend to any couple wanting a quite relaxing stay in a friendly place.

  Me and my partner had a lovely weekend away in Morecombe and the stay we had here was lovely.

  Great self catering apartment, a lot bigger than appeared in the pictures which is a bonus and we had chosen a weekend with nice weather, the view from the front room out onto the bay was incredible and we spend our evenings catching the rest of the warmth in conservatory with a good book provided by the owners. Directly across from the beach was a bonus for us and helped increase our experience and enjoyment being close to local amenities and the promenade, Being somewhere that welcomed our pooch and provided a bed and bowls (if required) was really helpful. A great little flat and well worth staying at. Both myself and my girlfriend agreed we would return to Morecombe and the surrounding areas and try get back in this top place.

  A spacious, thoughtfully equipped, warm and comfortable bolthole.

  We loved our morning cuppa in the conservatory, loved the quirky back garden and, coming back early on a cold wet day, it was a real pleasure to enjoy the bright sitting room with incredible views over the bay. The smart TV is full size - ignore the photos! Situation is about as good as it can get. Easy walk into the centre, even for us octogenarians! Loads of buses in either direction, bus stops almost outside the door, and a Spa shop just round the corner selling almost everything. It even has a free ATM. Yes, maybe the decorations could do with a tweak in places, but, all in all, a great break at a reasonable price. In fact we have booked to go back in four weeks time.
