  We really enjoyed our stay, although the neighbours were extremely difficult.

  When we arrived we pulled into the bay by the property to unload our belongings, a young woman from the house in front of the bay immediately came out and shouted at us, she also insulted me when I told her we were only unpacking our stuff, we didn’t plan on parking there. The lady at the back said there’s been a lot of bother from them; however they didn’t bother us again. Then my husband and I were in the kitchen with the door open at the back when a large dog came bounding through the door and tried to attack me, my husband threw water on it and was able to intimidate the dog so that it moved and we managed to barricade ourselves behind the back door until finally my husband closed the door. I was quite shaken by the experience. My husband shouted through the window for the neighbour at the end to get his dog- he didn’t and it continued to bark aggressively at us from behind the door; bearing its teeth and ready to attack when we tried to open/close the door window to shout to the man. He was actually hiding behind his gate as we could see him ducking behind the door. I’m concerned that if I had have been a child or my new 12 week old puppy- this would have been a sad story. I loved the cottage though, so beautiful, comfortable and clean. I would say that I wouldn’t take children or elderly people, just in case. Unless the problem is resolved but how could you resolve this? I would not allow this to stop you renting this property- it really is that good, just be careful about the parking and be careful in the shared backyard where there’s no gate between you and the end neighbours with the dog. (The neighbour has a gate but he’d obviously opened it to let his dog out). Ok, so the garden is absolutely gorgeous, very quirky set up on two/three levels. Lovely lady lives next door feeds the seagulls everyday, be careful there’s loads of them that flock there- not a problem for us as we weren’t home in the morning. BBQ area is pleasantly arranged and plenty of seating and cushions. The lights didn’t work when we were there, but we weren’t in the garden late anyway. Overall I would stay here again because it felt very homely, but I’d be extremely careful out the back door in the communal yard part. We never saw the dog before or after it attacked us. There is a gate on the main garden and it’s one step from the back door. Just be careful as you always are in public areas. And don’t speak to the house on the left of the property, very rude. The heating was perfect, bedding ok, decor and condition of the place was just right and spotlessly clean. In a near perfect location. Two large Terraces that look across the bay- stunning.   Truly amazing stay.

  Gorgeous peaceful surroundings, obviously everyone goes for the hot tub which is fed from an underground spring and heated 24 hours a day everything is perfect. You have a complimentary fire pit kit with logs for your first one, I guarantee that once you get into the hot tub with the flames dancing one fire will not be enough. I forgot about work and was so chilled after this break I was horizontal for days. The host is a lovely lady, so hard working and nothing is to much trouble. Highly recommend. The shops are a little bit of a distance as you are secluded but it's well worth it no stress. I recommend going to Glasson Dock approx 6 miles away the Dalton Arms does an amazing breakfast and pint of Guinness (we were on holiday) then if your into posh nosh from lobster to wild boar pate pop next door to the port of Lancaster Smokehouse for things to take back to the pod. We will be returning unfortunately my wife won't let me go back next week. This isn't a downside, housemartins like to nest around the outside light above the door, the owner keeps it under control but if you hang a plastic bag around the light in the day it keeps them away and saves your lovely host from scarecrow duty.   A cosy 70's style retro flat.

  Lovely living room with nicely.placed tall lamps. A kitchen perfect for two and a cute dog mat for dog bowls. The bedroom was beautiful,warm and intimate. The bathroom had a modern feel and just big enough for two. I enjoyed lounging on the sofa with the comfy throw. I was able to rest,relax and enjoy my birthday. The added touches of biscuits and jam were welcome. The filtered coffee was too posh for me. I appreciated the card and small chocolates for my birthday. The garden that I had a quick look round with the dog was nicely laid out with the added touch of fresh herbs for the cooks. It would be nice place to sit in the summer. The off road parking was good too. Owners were helpful with my little queries and quick to respond. Overall an enjoyable stay I would recommend to any couple wanting a quite relaxing stay in a friendly place.

  We really enjoyed our stay.

  Everything was spotless really beautiful and brilliant power shower . Loved the hot tub with a cheeky glass of bubbly ( plastic glass obvs ) Fiancé lit the fire pit on last night with the free wood and matches provided and enjoyed a lovely BBQ. Pub/Brewery just down the road just remember to bring a torch x Diane was amazing very very nice lady very kind and knowledgeable. All in all we enjoyed every minute and will definitely stay again x you won’t be disappointed x thank you Diane and family you’ve done an amazing job and your cleaner is brilliant x

  We had a fabulous stay here.

  Our hosts made us feel very welcome by handing us the key, and giving us a quick tour of the flat. One of the reasons we booked the flat was because we thought it looked lovely online, and it certainly delivered. A great mixture of contemporary and heritage. And the flat felt very welcoming too. We also loved the location, which is near the promenade plus nearby local shops. With a butchers and bakery to the post office, there wasn't much else we needed during our stay. Hoping to be able to go back again, and thank you for a great break.
