What our customers say about their holidays

  • Matthew - Verified booking

What a gem, this was a last minute booking for my wife, daughter and myself.

Having stayed in similar properties previously, I can say that you get so much for from this one. A few little things which made an huge difference…. All BBQ firewood included for the fire pit/bbq, topped up daily at no additional cost. Hot tub without a restricted control, allowing you to turn the heat of the tub up as you wish. Games room with a pool table and table tennis table, with football nets, cricket equipment to keep children entertained. Welcome pack including the best written directions that I have ever seen, for great local walks, with notes where local pubs are etc. The pods a perfect size for a family of two adults two children, there were plenty of space with just the three of us. The pod was clean, well maintained, it was as new, clearly well looked after by the owners. All the basics were provided for cooking, including outdoor tools for the bbq. A full size under counter fridge with freezer compartment, microwave and double hob, all like new. The location, the pods are located on a very quiet country road with parking just behind your pod. Great for the one clear night we had, to see all the stars. All the grounds were well maintained with electric secure gates on the entrance and perimeter fence/hedge. I could go on all day…. I will definitely be re-booking, a 10 out of 10. Thank you to the owners, who were very friendly I may add, I’ll see you soon.

What a lovely, peaceful, little pod!

It’s very modern, up to date, comfortable and cosy. I was fortunate to have the whole place to myself, as the other pod was empty. It had everything I needed (apart from a mirror, positioned somewhere for my hairdryer to reach, to dry my hair). The only issue I had was with the flies. I couldn’t have any of the windows or the door open, which detracted from the whole experience. I appreciate it’s not the owners fault, and I wouldn’t know what to suggest to be honest. Maybe an electric fly killer/zapper? The only other thing I’d suggest is getting a small, cordless vacuum. I was only there for 3 nts but felt the need to want to vacuum round in the living area (especially with all the dead flies)! There was a dust pan & brush, but I struggle to bend down. Brilliantly situated for the coast and beaches, with the bonus of being able to retreat from the busy areas to peace and tranquility. The weather wasn’t great so I didn’t use the hot tub (unfortunately)! As much as it was lovely to have the sun streaming in through the windows, whilst setting, I wanted blinds/curtains. I wouldn’t have liked to have experienced that on a really hot day.

Amazing! The property is exactly as described.

It is a pod and so it does have a small kitchen area but what more can you ask with a hob, oven and microwave. There are plenty of utensils, pans and oven trays. There is space in drawers and the pan cupboard to store food if required and a full size fridge and freezer. The main thing for us is cleanliness and everywhere was immaculate. The beds were comfortable, I slept really well. Each of the bedrooms have a TV and a hanging rail with coat hangers. The view was beautiful, across fields and it was lovely to watch the sun set and the sky turn golden. We can see how the property got its name! The grounds are fully enclosed, plenty of parking. The hot tub was perfect. We booked some time ago but then to see some of the reviews I did wonder what to expect. All I can say is our experience was brilliant. Yes, it is a small, compact pod- but you can clearly see from the photographs what it is. The living area was actually bigger than I expected. We would highly recommend and we will be returning.

    The property listing was accurate.

The information / updates were clear along with the entry information. The pod was well positioned to grab that "Gem Sunset" across open fields. It was clean and well prepared for our arrival. The pods were enclosed within there own fenced off area with lots of room for our new puppy to run around free and the grass area well maintained. The locals have a regular walk around the open fields which tales about an hour again ideal and perhaps could be highlighted for people. We visited Filey where we had coffee and cake at the Egg and Spoon which l recommend and Scarbrough as well as the the Piebald pub where the food was amazing and even had a pie for the dog! Two minor points? The bathroom off the main bedroom the light goes off rather quickly and the heating kept saying the date was incorrect and wouldn't allow us to adjust the temperature on occasions. It was a great break

We arrived early evening and were a bit worried about arriving in the dark. We were so happy to find the place lit up with welcoming lights, first impressions were very good. It was clean and tidy, high quality appliances and furniture and bedrooms very comfortable. The view over Robin Hoods Bay was amazing. The hot tub was running and we were so happy to be able to use it on the first night. On a clear night, sitting in the hot tub with the stars above was so relaxing. Our dog was able to wander around the garden and felt very at home. We didn’t use the garden room but looked lovely, or the BBQ….. maybe we will come back in the summer months for longer to enjoy those too. The location is perfect for walking to the Bay in about 30 mins (4 minutes in the car) and a 9 minute drive from Whitby. Can highly recommend. Absolutely lovely property.
