  Lovely place to stay with a private decking/patio area with hot tub, comfortable chairs and lounger.

  Perfect for good weather. Some concerns about fire safety .. there is an internal wood burner, a big fire pit on the wood decking (and what looked like another fire pit in the middle of a coffee table on the decking). The hot-tub is also wood-fire heated. With careful use these should be fine but it only takes a moment for a kid to become over-excited or a spark to land in the wrong place. I'd have liked to have seen a fire extinguisher in the kitchen at least. The lodge is really great inside - beautifully equipped. However, could we please have the instruction manuals for the dishwasher and air fryer? And could we have some oven gloves please? A visitor info pack would mean it'd not be necessary to explain the hot-tub use/buttons and could also include the Wifi password. The property is within close proximity of a rail track (Stamford to Oakham) - some may like to be made aware of that as trains (quite noisy) seem to be every 20 mins or so and run quite late into the night. The general description may need a bit of an update - the bath isn't P-shaped (so what?) and the 'communal freshwater dipping area' isn't actually a thing. Would recommend to those wanting a private and relaxing break as there's plenty to explore and do around Oakham and the Rutland Water area.

  The location and the lodge were beautiful however a shame about a few things that would have made the stay closer to perfect.

  Cleanliness - whilst it wasn’t dirty it wasn’t up to the standard I would expect for the cost, dirty windows, cobwebs and dust Train tracks - very close to the train tracks so sleep wasn’t always guaranteed to be restful, alongside the poor quality mattress Fresh water dippIng - this was advertised as available however the platform for this was still under construction on our visit Plenty of pros also, owners were very friendly, location and lodge were beautiful, very relaxing atmosphere and a beautiful part of the country

  Beautiful location and surroundings so peaceful great for a break away.

  Loved the space outside the lodge. Lack of storage in kitchen and no real wardrobe space. Feel the listing of the lodge and facilities isn’t correct really does need updating and to inc the train line immediately behind and ongoing works on site (didn’t bother us a we also have a train line nearby to where I live ) Lodge felt un finished needs tweaking needs blinds over main door and high windows also needs steps onto the decking. If you go in summer take fly spray with you! Lovely for a break away.

  Beautiful location for a quiet break away peaceful and beautiful views.

  Lots of outdoor space and seating. Lodge felt unfinished needs tweaking steps needed onto the decking area. More wardrobe space needed. Feel the listing of the lodge and facilities isn’t correct really needs updating and to inc the train line that is immediately behind the lodge (didn’t bother us as we live by a train line) may bother other people though also the ongoing works on the site. If you go in summer take fly spray with you! Lovely for a quiet break away.

  Everything was as listed!

  We had such a great time and would love to come again. The place was beautiful, comfortable and exactly what we needed. The hot tub was amazing! The only thing id mention to improve is the cleanliness of the kitchen utensils + cups as there were a couple dirty ones and also the cabin windows need a clean. But overall that did not affect our stay and we are happy we booked the Lodge.
