  Our party of 6 (and a puppy) had a wonderful 3 night stay at Sunset Lodge over the Easter Weekend.

  The location of the lodge is perfect, being next to a beautiful lake and nice grassy area for the children to play (football in our case!) We were extremely lucky with the weather so the hot tub was popular. We used the barbecue and caught a few fish too (returned to the water, didn't barbecue!). The lodge itself is very clean, well stocked with DVD's, a couple of board games, bedding and towels and the welcome basket with wine, chocolate eggs, crisps and dog treats immediately made us feel at home and put us in a great mood after our drive from Essex. The response to our request/query was almost immediate and very informative. We didn't manage to get the WiFi going (used our own phone data fine) but in our case, it did us a massive favour making the children want to be more active! You need to purchase the entertainment pass (£35 total for all guests in our lodge) as you are asked to show them for pretty much everything if you want to venture over to the clubhouse/restaurants/shops/arcade/etc. We had a couple of lovely meals there and our children enjoyed the football court and arcade especially. There is only one guarded entry/exit point (unless you want to climb over pretty high gates), so we felt very comfortable leaving our eldest to have a bit of freedom within the boundary (if that's freedom!). Our favourite place was the lodge though. We would definitely love to return one day. Lincolnshire is a beautiful place going by the drives we went on. We highly recommend a trip to Wild Pines (35/40 mins North) if you have any budding climbers in the family/party. It's a high ropes experience which we (ages 7 to 40) loved. It's very well explained and organised and the staff are first class. Again the weather helped. All in all, we had such a great time and I'm sure you will too. Michael and family.   We’ve stayed in different lodges in Tattershall over the past 4 years.

  This one was by far the best! Up to date and fresh furnishing. Bath is a bonus as my child hates showers. Full size single beds - not the smaller ones you get in caravans. Good size wardrobes. Washing machine is a bonus so you don’t go home with loads of washing - ideal for if you have kids or long stay. Dishwasher- thumbs up. Shower en suite - good size . The lodge is in a quiet area overlooking the aqua sports lake. While there are people on the lake 10-6/7 pm you don’t feel like it invades your privacy. It’s fun to watch. You can sit in the hot tub and relax with the beautiful views. We took food with us because the restaurants in the complex aren’t great and you need an entertainment pass. But we have previously used local pubs/ the chip shop and Chinese which are are 4-5 min drive max. There’s a farm park 5 mins drive - £6.50pp which is a fun day out and Woodhall spa nearby for walks, visit the outdoor heated pool. There are RAF aircraft practicing above which we love and don’t mind the sound. We didn’t want to leave because the lodge was so beautiful. My advice if staying in Tattershall- pay the extra for lake views! As soon as returned home we booked a weekend in October here.

  The lodge was lovely.

  Clean, spacious and comfortable. The x box had some excellent family games which was perfect for when it was raining. The grounds were also lovely. The hot tub had a lot of use! The castle was closed but there is a nice little walk on the website which is only 1.9k so good for kids not wanting to walk far. This was a private booking and unfortunately we weren’t made aware we would need passes for everyone to access the facilities. We weren’t interested in swimming but the passes were needed just to access the restaurants and arcade. This cost a further £50 which made eating out very expensive indeed. The money paid didn’t even include crazy golf which was another £5 per head. It also meant a long time in a queue waiting to get into guest services to pay for the passes. Part of the reason it took so long is we hadn’t been told we would need to register for COVID reasons before getting our passes. We also weren’t informed everything needs booking online which meant we were very limited in where we could go, what we could do and when. Overall, this was a good break and I would definitely go back but information could be significantly improved.

  This was a fabulous property for a family get together.

  Plenty of space and everything you could need for a home from home. The hot tub was fabulous, the huge garden was amazing for our 3 year old grandson to play on. We noticed a few cobwebs in the master bedroom, only a small issue but easily sorted. The smell from the drains was quite strong from arrival, we put it down to it being in the countryside but it got worse and was a bit off putting when wanting to use the BBQ and hot tub. On the last day we mentioned it to the maintenance guy who agreed it was very strong and shouldn’t be that bad as they had only recently been serviced. The large sofa in the lounge was very uncomfortable to sit on. Provision of a couple of fans would be useful as the smaller bedrooms got quite warm. All of these things are very small and did not spoil our experience significantly. Our main feedback is that 10 am checkout is very early and hard work to move out 3 families with babies and children, have breakfast and aim to leave the place as clean and tidy as possible. 11 am or even 12 midday would be much better. Overall we all enjoyed the stables and fasciitis very much

  Pros: The property was beautifully presented, and made very special with the decoration for Christmas.

  Check in was very easy with the key safe and the owner allowed us to go in a little early. The hot tub was suitable for 8 adults and the levels were checked by the owner while we were there to make sure the chemicals were okay. The property was clean (other than one towel that was very stained), the rest of the property was very clean. The parking was sufficient for 3 cars without having to block each other in. The property was very quiet, there's another rental cottage next door but very separate. Things to consider: There were no cleaning products, so we had to go out and buy our own to keep the place clean while we were there. And only 3 toilet rolls which isn't sufficient for a group of 8 for 3 nights. There isn't enough plastic cups for a big group for the hot tub (lots of the plastic cups in the cupboard were cracked from previous guests and overuse) so these need replacing. We had a really lovely time and thought the property was a nice place to spend our new year.
