Woodpecker is in a great location with peaceful surroundings and a fantastic rural view. The short walk down and around the lake was a hit with the kids. We were met with sunshine, showers and heavy wind at some points (March), but that didnât stop us from firing up the hot tub (allow plenty of time for this) and jumping in it when the wind had died down and the sun came out, perfect! The honesty shop is fabulous for recharging the lanterns supplied and picking up any additional fire lighting equipment, candles, not to mention the games, books and even a fridge with designated shelf for each tent. With it being a March booking, we made use of the winter blankets and hot water bottles (very thankful for these!), also thankful for the unlimited logs to keep the log burner topped up. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, washing up liquid, hand soap and even kitchen roll. The gas stove was very handy for cooking (as well as on top of the stove), and boiling the kettle. We were very impressed with the toilet flush, lots of power considering it was in the middle of a field and the showers were also sufficient. The site manager was very attentive and was on hand if and when needed. I would definitely recommend this holiday to others and would love to stay again. Thank you Glamping Hideaways!

Overall we had a lovely stay.
We were a little surprised when we we arrived as the photos looked like the property was detached. Sadly, the hot tub was not working properly, only 1 jet was working which was incredibly powerful and actually bruised my friend's back. I think someone else had mentioned this on a previous review. It was one of the main reasons why we booked Swandown. Downstairs was a little tired, flaky paint on ceilings etc in the bathrooms and in one bathroom the water in the bath didn't drain away so that wasn't very nice. There was a couple of dirty plates and the grill pan needed to be washed before we used it. The TV sound quality wasn't great. Other than that, we had a lovely time. It is super comfortable, lovely location, great views, very helpful staff. Lovely little honesty shops and great range of DVDs and games. We used the swimming pool on site and the facilities at the hotel - which were very tired.

As a group of four friends we really enjoyed our stay in your lodge.
We all slept well and found the beds very comfortable. The hot tub was perfect, easy to use and extremely clean. We were grateful to find plenty of towels and extra ones for use around the hot tub. The kitchen was very well equipped and we enjoyed cooking in it and sitting at the large dining table with a lovely view from the large windows. Everything thing was bright and fresh and the lodge was warm and inviting on our autumn break. The receptionist was extremely helpful with our queries and handy to know we could call him if we had questions. We would have liked to have a little more washing up liquid rather than two squeezes and more than one loo roll per bathroom provided or a note on the booking to bring some as we didnât think about that and that would have made our stay pretty perfect. Thank you we will definitely book again.

Stunning house, tranquil setting and alot bigger than I thought.
All rooms were more than adequate for our personal needs. En suite bathroom is luxurious. Family bathroom equally as nice, with a bath and separate shower. The whole family enjoyed the property as the kids were kept entertained in the games room, the adults had a relaxing time in the hot tub and sat outside chilling with a few drinks. There are a couple of really minor issues. 1. Games room, arcade machine was great for the kids, but we had no idea which buttons were A B C D etc, maybe a laminate on wall to indicate which button is which. 2. Family bathroom the plug needs fixing in the bath. As I said really minor, did not affect the overall quality of the house. Also thank you again Alan for the surprise visit with the Christmas gift, was very welcome, hopefully we would like to return at some stage.
