  We loved this place! The owner was very friendly and welcoming. Fresh milk, wine and homemade buns were waiting for us which was very much appreciated after our long journey. This place had everything we needed along with a little basket of dog items (bowl, blanket, poo bags, towels and treats) - another thoughtful gesture. The accommodation was not only clean and comfortable but had an air of luxury about it with a spacious bathroom containing a large walk-in shower and a jacuzzi bath. The bedroom, also very spacious has a comfortable bed with little lights all around it. It felt quite romantic and looked so pretty. The little lights were also in the living area and the “safe” candles were a lovely touch. The kitchen area seems in two parts but don’t worry, you quickly get used to it and it has everything you need. Whilst you have to go down steps to the garden area, it is so worth it! It is an enclosed and private garden, this was important for us as we took our old dog with us and we knew he was safe. We very much enjoyed the hot tub and a real stroke of genius having the shepherds hut to change in, use the loo, store items etc. The artificial grass was a bonus too. So much nicer underfoot than shingle which we’ve previously had in holiday cottages. The location is beautiful and a good base for exploring Cornwall. Definitely recommend.   Absolutely idyllic, picture perfect and quaint cottage, with amble space for a lovely winter week getaway from city living.

  The cottage was extremely cosy, lovely roaring fires with ample wood kindly supplied by owner. Also, we had a lovely welcome treat of Devonshire cream tea upon arrival, thank you, Charlie, very kind to indeed. The beds/bedding was very comfortable and cosy, underfloor heating was a great hit with our travel cat, who spent most of its time sprawled out on the conservatory floor!! This room was wonderful for breakfast and reading, and we spend the few evenings playing board games we found available here too. The hot tub on the cold winter nights was luxuriating, and was very much in use ! We used herbs we found growing in the garden in some of our cooking, adding to the total comfort of cottage life. We also found the cottage to be a great base for exploring, National Trust Castle Drogo, less than 25mts away, and Dartmoor National Park walks. We also found a beautiful restaurant Bearslake Inn for scrumptious dinner, and The Tors pub with great hearty food after a great walk on the Moors, only a mere 15mts drive away from the cottage. Summing up, Rose cottage ticked more boxes than we had even wished for, we loved the property and highly recommend those wishing an idyllic get away in such a beautiful thatched cottage.   We had a really love stay at Cubert no3.

  The caravan itself was very clean and had everything we needed. The hot tub was a wonderful bonus, as was the little welcome gift waiting for us (thank you!). The location was good - quick drive into Perranporth one way, or a few minutes more the other way into Newquay. There’s a nearby shop in the village with a great little bakery inside selling an array of pasties and cakes. The site was very well maintained with a small play area for children. There’s also a decent size swimming pool (you have to book in at customer services but we didn’t have any problems getting in). The bar was clean with friendly staff, but a little expensive - as expected for a caravan site. Only two comments which stopped it from being perfect - there’s no shop on site. It’s really handy to be able to pick up basics when needed without having to get into a car. Secondly, the WiFi. We rely heavily on WiFi to find places to visit, activities, timings and bookings, but we were rarely able to get online as mobile signal was also very weak. This made it difficult to make plans. Though there is WiFi in the bar, this was also temperamental often needing to be reset. Overall, a lovely week - shame about the weather!!

  Borah Lodge was absolutely wonderful.

  Everything we wanted and needed! The lodge is set on a working farm, is tucked away in the corner and feels private. It’s exactly as described and was cosy and warm. On arrival, the lodge was extremely clean and tidy. There was scones, jam and cream waiting for us and they were delicious! Harvey and coco, the farm spaniels are so sweet and friendly, we loved having them around to visit us! The hot tub is so relaxing and was much needed after a long day walking across the coastal paths. The lodge is situated in the best place possible for exploring south Cornwall. Mousehole and Penzance are about 15 mins away and Newlyn is a 5/10 min drive. It’s the best place for fish and chips! St Ives is about 30 mins away and the amazing Kynance Cove and Lizard point is an hour away but well worth the drive. If you have a dog, Porth Kidney is the best beach around Highly recommend the Lake Side Cabin Cafe in Lelant for cream tea. The biggest and best cream tea and cakes we have ever had!! Overall, great location, relaxing, clean, tidy and exactly what we needed. Thank you!

  We really enjoyed our time at Rose Cottage.

  It is a beautiful cottage inside and out. We found the facilities to be excellent. We ate in most nights and the kitchen was well equipped, although a lack of cutlery. The lounge was comfortable and snuggly with a roaring fire. We loved the hot tub and made use of it most nights. We had an issue with the heating upstairs in the bedrooms which is on a separate system. The down stairs is all underfloor heating which is excellent. The upstairs heating wouldn't kick in and seemed to be on a timer. The rooms went down to 10 degrees when we woke in the morning. We contacted Charlie who took it off the timer but it took 3 days of the heating being on permanently to finally get up to 18 degrees. The only issue we found with the property was the busy road right outside. The cars at night race past so fast and can be so loud through the vents on the windows. I had to buy some ear plugs to help sort this. We would recommend Rose Cottage as we had a lovely stay and visited some lovely places and quality pubs throughout the area.
