What our customers say about their holidays
Mrs Wilkinson - Verified booking
2 Oceanpoint is a truly beautiful apartment in a stunning location. The views from the patio balcony are breathtaking. The apartment itself was spotlessly clean, well presented and tastefully decorated and furnished. There is also a secure car park so no need to worry about parking. You are well placed location wise to visit Croyde, Woolacombe, Ilfracombe, Chambercombe Manor and many other places, that is, if you can tear yourself away from the fantastic Saunton Sands beach right in front of you. There is a private path from the back of the property down to Saunton beach but beware anyone who has a disability or trouble with walking as the walk up and down is very steep. There are also a fair few stairs to contend with to get to the apartment and I didn't notice a lift. The pint of milk, Devon fudge and shortbread biscuits left for us in the apartment were very much appreciated following our long journey. Overall we had a fantastic stay at 2 Oceanpoint and I would be hard pushed to find fault with this place - if you really pushed me, I would say that the shower head in the family bathroom didn't appear to be the right one for the shower as it would not sit in the holder making it difficult for my daughter to comfortably shower/wash her hair; and some cups and saucers in the kitchen cupboard would have been most welcome as not everyone likes to drink a big mug of tea. Other than that, I think everything else was excellent. I will definitely return to this apartment. Thank you for a lovely holiday.

A VERY BAD start! We were given the wrong key code so that on arrival we had to wait 50 minutes before the charming Emma arrived to let us in, cold, damp and in need of the toilet. No explanation of what went wrong as yet! The cleaner, if indeed there was one, had somehow failed to notice that the toilet in the main bathroom did not flush. We didn't discover this until Tuesday when we went in to check it before our guests arrived Once again the efficient Emma moved swiftly to ensure that a plumber repaired this by the end of the day The house linen was very poor: tired, stale bedding in the main bedroom all smelling musty. Difficult to get dry with the small poor quality towels. These also smelling horrible. I rewashed these and the pillow cases on the following day. Suspect the house hadn't been used for some time and it definitely needs an overhaul of drains, overflows etc to make it smell better. Expect some response from you.

Embleton is a wonderful property, we have stayed here many times over the last 10 years and it just gets better and better. The location is of course superb and the house is really lovely, everything is finished to the best standards which means it's a joy to stay in, with every convenience thought of, comfortable beds and furnishings and plenty of hot water. The added touches of a pint of milk in the fridge and a selection of very nice teas were really appreciated after a 6 hour journey, best of all the tiny Easter egg left on the end of each bed, children and adults were really delighted! I almost forgot the Easter mini rolls too, we ate them at Baggy Point, thank you so much! I hope to stay at Embleton every year, thank you Embleton owners and housekeepers and the team at Marsdens Cottages who negotiated a long weekend let for us. We love Embleton!

It was very expensive compared to other properties we stayed at in May half terms but wasnât as comfortable.
We found all the external doors hard to open plus some windows. The key safe was very difficult to use. The wooden floors were slippery and our four year old grandchild slipped and cut her lip. The stairs were slippery too. I would definitely recommend taking good slippers to wear. There were no bin bags - luckily we had something suitable for the kitchen bin but not the food bin, which we put out on the correct day but it wasnât emptied - there was another there with flies so obviously that hadnât been emptied for a while. There were lots of toys for the children to play with which was good. The kitchen was nice and well equipped We left on the Wednesday morning - two days early.

This was a large, comfortable property and a good base for a wonderful holiday. The kitchen was lovely and well equipped and the living areas were great - having an extra sitting room is a bonus! The garden is very steep. You can see this in the pictures but there were even more steps than expected - just something to think of if you have mobility challenges or young children. The only major issue we encountered was that we couldn't lock a number of first and second floor windows. For adult guests this is not an issue, but with a younger child in the party it caused us real concern. Other than that, a good property and a great location.
