  We had a fabulous time and are looking to book again next year, possibly with a bigger group to check out one of the larger apartments.

  In the Mabel suite everything was perfect for a group of 2 couples. The place was comfortable and had everything needed for cooking at home. The location is brilliant for walking into Ulverston and to Aldi & M&S at the bottom of the road. Ulverston is a hidden gem. The pubs were fantastic, we went back to both the Farmers and the Mill twice each and had really good quality meals. The town has some lovely arty independent shops and it felt like a lovely community vibe. People are very friendly and chatty up here. We had a lovely walk up to the Hoad monument and enjoyed the windy views. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend stone cross mansions for anyone wanting a stylish, quiet retreat to explore the Lake District from. The shared areas in the mansion are well maintained and we really enjoyed playing pool and ax throwing on the lawn. I would suggest getting some boot scrapers and hard bristle mats near the front door and in the foyer area- given a lot of people will be visiting for hiking/walking holidays.   A Beautiful apartment - lovely high ceilings.

  We were so impressed from the moment we arrived. It had everything we needed for our stay. Beautiful staircase. Easy to park. Close to supermarkets. Really liked the area. 2 negatives: the shower pressure was far too much and dangerous for my 7 and 9 yo children to be able to have a shower and when i turned it to try and reduce the pressure it turned hot and burnt my arm. It should have a danger sign on it. So we would not have been able to stay longer than 4 days there as it was not possible for the kids to have a shower. We also think there was a problem with the toilet plumbing in the main bathroom due to the fact that when the en-suite toilet was used some of the toilet contents appeared in the main bathroom toilet so that needed to be flushed too. It was very strange. The bed mattress was also very soft and not that comfortable. Part from these points, it was amazing. It was lovely how there were coffee pods for us to use and teabags and biscuits. Absolutely loved the kitchen. A lovely bright apartment.

  We had a lovely stay at 'Fortress'. The cottage is part of a handsome Barn conversion with a view over the garden. It was easy to find, and is in an excellent location, close to Carlisle but in peaceful countryside near to Hadrian's Wall. Fortress was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. It is well furnished and a great deal of care has clearly gone in to making it a cosy and relaxing place to stay. We appreciated all the little extras, (including a bottle of wine!), and the friendly welcome from Anne and Jonathan. Everything is well thought out. There are designated parking and outdoor spaces for each of the holiday cottages. There is a laundry room with washers and dryers which is great for muddy walkers: providing detergent and conditioner was a thoughtful extra. Anne and Jonathan (and family) went above and beyond to provide a relaxing and problem-free holiday, We would highly recommend Bleatarn Park to any holiday maker, and we hope to return soon.

  Excellent stay.

  The property had everything we needed and more. Outstanding attention to detail from the fully equipped kitchen (including proper Gin Glasses!) to the hooks on the backs of doors and coasters on the bed side tables. These might seem like little things but it is the little things that make a property a real 'home away from home'. The Now TV stick was a bonus and wi fi reliable. Above all else the property was beyond spotlessly clean, had a beautiful smell (I will be getting some of those reed diffusers for home) and the view was just stunning. I woke up early every morning just to sit on the sofa and watch the sun rise. Excellent location: a short drive to Fleetwood and Blackpool and the village has everything you need in walking distance. We had yummy pizzas from Mr G's and fresh bread and pies from the bakery. Andy and Julie are brilliant hosts and the communication before our stay was excellent. I wouldn't hesitate to book again.

  Property was excellent!

  If I had to nit pick, there were 2 things that I would say were a very, very minor inconveniences - 1. There was no 2-pin socket to recharge razors, electric toothbrushes, etc. (unless I was unable to find it). 2. I, at 5ft 2ins. was unable to use the mirror in the bathroom as it was fitted too high on the wall above the sink. However, there were numerous mirrors located around the apartment that I was able to use. As I said these 2 items were only very, very minor inconveniences and I would certainly come again, provided Matthew & Jane would have me back after the above comments! Overall a really enjoyable stay at a property provided by two ultra friendly people. Matthew & Jane every good luck for the future! Mary & Gerry Quinn
