Church View Lodge in Oakham, Lincolnshire, offers a comfortable stay with a well-equipped kitchen, cosy beds, and a hot tub. Guests appreciate the cleanliness, the welcome packs, and the dog-friendly environment. While some found the sofas and noise from the adjacent reception or nearby industrial area bothersome, the majority enjoyed the peaceful setting, friendly staff, and proximity to local attractions.
Reviews mostly praise the cleanliness of the lodge, noting it as spotless and well-maintained. However, a few guests mentioned issues with flies, dust, and cobwebs, which slightly lowers the score.
The lodge's location is generally well-regarded for its proximity to the village and local attractions. Some guests, however, were affected by noise and smoke from a nearby industrial area, which impacts the score.
Guests find the beds comfortable and the living areas relaxing. Criticisms focus on the condition and comfort of the sofas and some outdoor furniture, leading to a moderate score.
Facilities such as the hot tub, well-equipped kitchen, and on-site restaurant are appreciated. Maintenance issues with the hot tub and lack of certain kitchen utensils are noted, resulting in a good but not excellent score.
Many guests mention and appreciate the welcome packs, which include items like eggs, chocolates, and wine. While these are well-received, it is noted that such gifts are a kind gesture and may not be guaranteed for every stay.

Cabin was clean and a nice welcome package on arrival Hot tub had a broken lid making it awkward to open at times Cabin was connected to reception so there was consistent noise during open hours No locks on bathroom door

One of the settees has now been replaced with a much comfier one which made the stay more pleasant than last time. The lodge is lovely and warm, cosy and was spotlessly clean. Maintenance staff check the water in the hot tub daily and The Rutland Kitchen cafe opposite the lodge offers a great menu of both eat in and takeaway food. The Vegan pizza that I had was the best I have ever tasted and friends who came for the day said the same about their pizzas too.

Nice and clean. Hot tub great. The only thing that let it down was the sofas, one was ripped where it is so old and worn and borh are so uncomfortable. This lodge is not detached- it is adjoining reception- you can hear voices during the day through the connecting door which is looked. Didnât bother us as we were out during the day anyway. Bed was comfortable. Love the area, so much to do.
