Guests say

Oak Bank is a well-received cottage in Windermere, praised for its cleanliness, comfort, and prime location. Guests have enjoyed the property's well-equipped facilities and the beautiful views it offers. While some minor maintenance issues were noted, the overall sentiment is positive, with many guests expressing a desire to return.

The property generally receives high marks for cleanliness, with most guests finding it spotless. There was a single mention of finding food and packaging under the sofas, but this seems to be an isolated incident.

The location is consistently lauded for being picturesque and convenient, offering easy access to local attractions and walks. Its proximity to both Windermere and Ambleside is frequently appreciated.

Guests find the cottage comfortable, with several positive comments about the beds and the cosy atmosphere. A few suggestions were made for additional lamps and a handrail in one bedroom for added comfort.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, with the property described as well-equipped. However, there are several mentions of minor maintenance issues such as leaky shower heads and the need for a cutlery holder in the dishwasher, which slightly lower the score.

There are no specific mentions of gifts or special thoughtful touches provided by the hosts, so it is not possible to score this category. However, the overall positive experiences suggest a degree of thoughtfulness in the property's presentation and amenities.

So spacious, light and airy. Very well equipped (would benefit from a smaller frying pan and better cooking utensils), very comfortable and beautifully positioned. The seating areas are well furnished and catch the sun with stunning views over to Windermere. It felt homely and welcoming from the first impression to the last. We had a really lovey stay here and hope to be back. A couple of points that could be improved; spring in the sofa has "sprung" and is a little uncomfortable. It would be lovely to have a welcome pack (as I've experienced in other cottages) even if it's only a pint of milk - although this didn't affect the quality of the stay.

The cleanliness was outstanding throughout and the layout of the rooms enabled everyone to have their own space as well as providing an spacious area for us all to relax in together. The kitchen was ery well equipped.
