We are very thankful that we did. The surroundings are amazing, the people are so kind and easy to talk to. We were welcomed with a lovely rustic crate filled with some essentials all locally sourced, and a guide booklet to tell us everything we needed to know about the lodge, the hot tub and all electrical equipment. The lodge was set up lovely on arrival and hottub was ready to go whenever we were ready. There is alot to do close by and far away if like us we are fond on exploring new areas. Adam the owner popped in for a check in to make sure everything was okay, and to offer some of his knowledge for the surrounding areas. He was absolutely lovely, really nice and easy to get on with. We have made so many memories here, in this gorgeous setting and we will look forward to coming back here for anniversaries to come!

The owner Adam was friendly and welcoming...I would come again to this spot and try the other lodges. Definitely would recommend this place for couples for a get away. Adam and his family where very welcoming upon checking in. Comprehensive file of information for you to soak in. The location of the the lodge was idealic for a peaceful break away. Well maintained lodge with a welcome hamper and slippers. Added bonus was an amazing hot tub. All the creature comforts you will ever need for a short break away. Beautiful natural lake to view with swans swimming daily. Be prepared to drive for days out as the lodges are secluded. We knew this already in advance. Cricketts Inn is a must for and evening meal. Half way house is a welcoming Home style pub. (Thank you grace who works there for making us feel welcome). Once again thank you for you hospitality Adam and family.

The lodge was well equipped and had everything you needed. The towels were a lovely thick quality. The bedding was good quality although the bed was a bit hard for me but was perfect for my partner. The welcome box was a lovely touch with the bread, milk, croissants, juice and jam. The view down to the fishing lake was beautiful especially when sat in the hot tub and the twinkly lights above the hot tub was a lovely touch in the evening. The hot hub was a perfect size for me and my partner and was great that it was under cover and right next to the patio doors especially as we had some rain whilst we were there. It was such a relaxing 3 night break, we didn't leave the lodge for the 3 days.

We enjoyed our week in this peaceful little cottage.
The owners have thought of every comfort and it was very clean and welcoming. We sadly didn't get any decent weather to enjoy the beautiful countryside but it is somewhere we will return to and give another go. Buxton is a nice little town and Longnor was lovely to stroll through. Some nice little pubs close by where the food was good and the welcome freindly. I recommend the Pack Horse, scrummy food. I guess WIFI would have been nice but we did know this before we went and to be fair the cottage is in a very secluded area, which is why we chose it. Thank you for sharing your lovely quiet retreat with us. Also the cheese was lovely!!
