What our customers say about their holidays
Jane - Verified booking
Peter and Louise have thought of everything.
This new holiday home is stylishly and comfortably decorated to a very high standard and you will find plenty of good quality, crockery, glassware and cookware. My husband was very pleased to see large wine glasses!! The house is spacious, bright and clean. The house connected is also rented out but, all other homes are are lived in permanently or second homes. All neighbours were friendly and most sit out at the front to catch the last sunshine of the day and we were given a warm welcome. The beds were very comfortable and the linen of a high standard. The water power and constant supply of hot water was great. During our stay communication from Peter was excellent advising us that the grass was being cut and would that be convenient and during a short power cut in the local area he kept us up to date (the house had candles and matches to light them and the gas hob so we could still prepare dinner) The location is good to, ample parking and within easy walking distance to one of our favourites, The Oyster Catcher and just a 5 minute driving into Rhosneigr. Its easy to jump on the main roads from the house also to visit other areas of the island. If you know Rhosneigr, you'll know that the RAF base - Valley does to regular test flights of the jets but, these are no earlier than 8.30am and later than 5/6 ish. Its a real spectacle when they fly overhead so we enjoyed the view even if a little loud! The one thing to be aware of with this lovely holiday home is that there is an active train track right behind the garden fence. We were unsure on our first evening what the noise was but soon figured it out. The trains do pass quite frequently but the noise is short lived and tbh we were out enjoying ourselves most of the time. You hear the trains mainly in the back of the house. We are looking to return to this holiday home next year and would recommend to our friends.

Initially we were very pleased with The Granary - clean, spacious & after a while, warm.
We booked this as it was pet friendly though we hadn't appreciated that the outside space for the dogs was a small patio only, meaning for our dogs needs we had to walk them to the grassed areas both first & last thing - so up and dressed for us, no lie in! No welcome gifts - no milk, no wine, no cookies, not even any matches nor a laid fire in the woodburner. The photos show otherwise. No useful notes in a file to help us along - one A4 sheet telling us we'd be charged £15 to send anything back we left behind. So far we're not feeling very welcome. The kitchen was poorly equipped - two tired saucepans (only 1had a lid), 1 frying pan, only 4 forks (so easy to fix), 1 tea towel (again, easily fixed). Being responsible dog owners we didn't like to leave our girls so ate in every night - this kitchen didn't make this an easy event. The crockery was fine but so old fashioned (sadly not in a vintage way). Also if taking dogs be aware there are no public footpaths in this area. Our two main negatives are !. 1. The appalling Wifi - so intermittent we couldn't use any on-demand TV, neither of us could work and it was unsecured - seemed to be one account based in the main home. 2. On leaving (a day early - due to wifi) we left a written note alerting the owners to the fact that the mezzanine smoke/CO alarm flashed constantly all night long - too irritating to sleep through. This was a holiday we had worked hard for and really needed. Sadly it left a sour taste.

We are just on our way home after staying at Seaview.
My husband and I and our 17 month old dog have had an amazing time. The property is situated in a quiet close. We found it extremely clean and tidy. It was stocked with everything we needed from ample loo rolls, dishwasher tablets, washing pods, washing up liquid to small toiletries such as shower gel and shampoo. Itâs a light and airy property with a very secure garden area. The property is situated within walking distance to the Oyster Catcher (a lovely relaxed cafe and restaurant) a fab beach and Rhosneigr. There is a small convenience shop less than 5 minutes walk away. There is some road, train and plane noise especially if the weather is hot and you have the windows open but honestly this does NOT really cause any inconvenience. In fact itâs fascinating watching the RAF fighter planes when they come overhead. We found the whole area fabulous in respect of having a dog as the beaches were dog friendly and the cafeâs and restaurants allow dogs too. Getting back to the property the owners were even kind enough to provide two dog bowls for their doggie guests. Plus we received a lovely welcome card and some wine as a welcome gift. I canât rate this property highly enough and have no hesitation in recommending it.

I needed a nearby stay whilst my property purchase in Holyhead neared completion, this was my third Sykes Cottages stay on the island.
Overall, really pleased with this property. Just the right size for me, everything I needed for a solo 9-day stay. My only negatives would be: oddly, only 1 wine glass in the cupboard (can't help to think if a couple stayed); the freezer part of the fridge hasn't been defrosted in a year or more, it is compacted ice, so I couldn't use it; as mentioned by previous reviews, the walls are thin, for 3/4 days mid-stay the cottage to the rear (No.7) had some pretty noisy people in moving furniture & dragging boxes around, every drawer opened and closed resonates into No.6. On the estate, I was a little perturbed by a knock on the door late one afternoon, a man peering through the window at me... on opening the door he asked to 'test the smoke detector'. He had no ID when asked. I then noticed that he simply let himself into the next properties he wanted to check... what if I'd have been upstairs in the shower or bed, would he have just let himself in ? One of the comfiest beds I've encountered... I'd certainly stay again.

Sea View is a lovely, modern property, tastefully decorated and furnished to a high standard.
Everything has been thought of by Peter and Louise - the owners, who have gone the extra mile to make your stay as pleasant as possible. A nice touch was a personalised Welcome card and wine, which was greatly appreciated and went down very well on arrival. Peter even emailed to Welcome us to their home from home. The living room/ kitchen is fully stocked. All crockery, cooking utensils and cutlery look new. The beds are comfy and bathrooms are sparkling and tidy and the whole house smelt fresh and clean. Sea View is ideally located for exploring Anglesey and is only a short walk to the beach and the highly rated Oyster Catcher, which became a favourite for âSundownersâ on the upper veranda after a day on the beach. The town of Rhosneigr, with its host of coffee shops and restaurants, is just a bit further on. There are more fantastic beaches, coves and pubs to visit all along the west coast. Canât recommend this property highly enough. We will definitely look to book again in the near future.
