  We had a great stay at Lavender cottage, 3 adults and the place was roomy enough for us, loved the conservatory on the back of the house.

  new owners had recently taken over, and the place felt fresh and clean, the kitchen was well stocked with the necessary equipment, we eat out most of the time, but do enjoy trying some good local food to cook ourselves (Turnbull's at Alnwick is excellent), and there was all the utensils that we needed to cook a couple of meals during the week, the location is great for the local places to drink and eat, and only a short walk to the beach. It was a nice touch to have tea, coffee, fresh milk left for us, salt pepper, foil and cling film, and washing up liquid, scourers and cloths, just simple items but such a help when self catering, having had rentals in the past that had nothing but the furniture! I would definitely recommend this property.

  We have just returned from a great week at Lavender Cottage- it was cosy and comfortable.

  We had everything we needed, even egg cups as generally they aren’t available and we take our own. Lovely back garden which backed onto the field with the horse, made it so peaceful and tranquil. You could literally hear a pin drop. Lots of amazing walks straight out of the door, and within easy reach of Berwick, Holy Island, Alnwick and smaller coastal villages Seahouses, Bamburgh, Alnmouth,Warkworth and Amble all worth a visit. Amazing food at The Courtyard and The Landing in Beadnell Village. Couldn’t fault our stay. Tea, coffee, milk and cookies were much appreciated when we arrived as were the pretty flowers. A lovely week and we will be back! Thank you to Julie and Alan

  There were three decent sized bedrooms at the property. There was a outdoor seating and dining area, which was south facing. The property was modern and the notices round the house helped us to know what to be aware of. The text messages from the owners were a very nice touch, and Peter and Lisa were very helpful in providing information to allow us to start planning our holiday before we arrived. We enjoyed the properties location, it had lots of natural light and had easy access to the beach and the village. The cottage has a very calm feel to it, and we loved that the décor which is fresh and modern. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with you again.

  A very enjoyable experience, cosy, comfortable and very well equipped and an unexpected welcome gift!

  Easy access to all amenities, shops, pubs, restaurants and public transport. Great for sightseeing and walking along the river path. The only notable drawback being the garden which could easily be improved by the addition of a three foot fence and gate to the front section, thus making the garden enclosed and more dog friendly. We experienced several of the neighbours dogs wandering into the garden during our visit, whilst we’re dog friendly this was not relaxing due to us having our dogs with us. Overall highly recommended and we are most likely to book a return visit!

  We’ve had a great holiday in and around Amble which we think is a lovely place. Lots is going on in the area and people are very friendly. We loved wandering around the harbour and also sitting watching what was going on from the cottage both indoors and outdoors. The Alba is a beautiful place to stay with everything you need and more, designed beautifully, and I can imagine it being really cosy in the autumn/winter months too. This was our first visit to Northumberland, but definitely won’t be our last, we also had good weather which is obviously a bonus!
