  Little Pontus is an amazing holiday property.

  So often places meant for two people are small with little space to spread out or sit comfortably. But not Little Pontus. It's a wonderful property superbly decorated and furnished. The underfloor heating was fabulous for bare feet in December. We certainly didn't need the log burner. The sitting room was fabulous with an L shaped sofa so we could both stretch out in comfort and watch the large screen TV. There were plenty of lamps around the room for subtle lighting and the main lights are on dimmer switches for a cosy feel in winter months. The kitchen diner is very smart and has everything needed - even a full size freezer. One of my pet hates at holiday lets is blunt knives but the ones at Little Pontus were lovely and sharp. There was also space for hubby to sit and use his laptop - and a huge dog bed which looked very comfortable for fury friends. The bedroom has loads of storage space and there was always plenty of hot water in the shower room. The linen smelled so fresh and there were plenty of towels. Little Pontus is a great base for visiting Kent - Canterbury, Hever Castle, Whitstable and Sandwich to mention just a few. Shari does a fantastic job running Little Pontus and she's so helpful and informative. There are little extras which aren't usually found in a holiday property - radios, ornaments etc which make the property feel so homely. She also left some little treats which were appreciated. I would highly recommend a stay at Little Pontus. It's the best holiday property we've ever stayed in.

  Well Little Pontus, what a beautiful home away from home you are.

  The gardens are stunning and are a testament to Shari and her hard work and vision. The cottage is comfortable, clean, spacious and luxurious. We needed a holiday to "stop" and "unwind" and boy did we pick the perfect place for that! Waking up to the sounds of the trees and birds. A cold plunge in the pool to get all your senses going. Watching the birds and squirrels. Petting and playing with the resident cat and dog ... hang on, were we in heaven? .. this staycation was everything we needed and more :) We are seasoned at staying in self catering and tend to take quite a bit away with us .. just in case! Some places have everything and others, not so much. Little Pontus is the former. Shari has thought of everything and if something wasn't there for you, I am sure the ultimate host that is Shari, would make sure you had what you needed. Such a lovely lady, with a sweet smile and a warm heart. We don't really want to shout about Little Pontus, we want it all to ourselves, it is THAT special.   Amazing cottage and stay - cannot recommend it enough.

  This is the best rental cottage we have stayed in, out of many over the years, and in a lovely peaceful, rural location. The large garden was beautiful and well laid out, from formal areas to lawn and long grassy areas, allowing our dog hours of fun sniffing, playing or lying around, in the safety of being completely enclosed. Elsa, the resident dog, was very friendly and accepting of our dog. The cottage was exceptional - very comfortable, clean and spacious, and with beautiful décor and everything we needed. Shari, the owner, was so friendly, accommodating and generous, making the stay even more delightful. When our dog was too tired to further explore the local beautiful nature reserves on the North Downs, we loved using the tennis court and swimming pool – while the latter is unheated, the cold was unnoticeable after a short brisk swim (the weather was only 15 degrees most of our stay) and it was a great addition to our holiday. We will definitely put Little Pontus back on our visit list as we had such a fabulous time there.

  An absolute dream of a holiday.

  Our second visit to Little Pontus and certainly won’t be the last. We went for Christmas this time and left the house just once in a week! Very cliche but it really is home from home, from the beautiful furnishings, underfloor heating and log burner to a huge well equipped kitchen and perfect bedroom with shower room. Nothing is ever too much trouble for the owner and she truly does her very best to ensure you have everything you need and goes out of her way to make sure every comfort is available. The food hamper on arrival is a real treat as it all comes from local farm shops and gives an insight as to what good food is available in the area. For a relaxing quiet holiday that’s not too far from Canterbury if you need a shopping fix we couldn’t recommend Little Pontus any higher.

  Inkpen Cottage is one of the best holiday homes we have stayed in! Everything as described and in working order, which hasn’t always been our experience. Renovated to a high standard and tastefully furnished, the cottage is warm & welcoming providing a very relaxing stay. There is a lovely private garden which is a great space to just sit and watch the sunsets and the full moon!! The hosts have it just right - generous welcome hamper, respond promptly to messages yet respect your privacy throughout the stay. Finally great location for exploring the area…Sissinghurst, Great Dixter, Rye, Hastings and there’s a lovely friendly pub and bakery in the local village. Would highly recommend.
