What our customers say about their holidays

The Vault house is in a great location with all local amenities on your doorstep.
The welcome pack was a lovely surprise and even our dog was treated. The property was spotless and the decor and furniture was of a high standard. The beds were very comfortable with good quality linen and pillows. The outside area was a great addition and fantastic for families, BBQâs and guests with dogs. We have a couple of negative points being when we stayed the weather was very good and the property gets warm. The bedroom window opens up onto a gangway at the side of the house which we was not happy leaving it open while sleeping. A couple of fans in the property would probably resolve this issue. The last point was more of an inconvenience than a negative as the outside area cannot be accessed directly from the property so you have to go out the back door onto the side street to enter from the side gate. This meant locking up every time we went to the garden. Like I said itâs an inconvenience more than anything else. I would definitely recommend the Vault House to anyone looking for a relaxing break that is in a great location to explore the wonders of Northumberland.

The property was easy to find as it's right on the A697, about 4 miles east of Cornhill-on-Tweed.
With easy, convenient, and safe parking onsite, the property draws on spectacular vistas of sublime countryside living. A sturdy wooden gate opens up onto a secluded courtyard with individual, private lodgings, each with their own keybox. This was a great idea and made accessing the studio a breeze. Inside, we found lodgings that were neat and tidy and very clean. It was a pleasure to see this, and we noted the time and effort it took to achieve such thoroughness. The kitchenette was complete with an electric stove, microwave, and dishwasher, although the latter two were redundant. A gloriously spacious bathroom, complete with an individual shower, presented a real feast for the eyes. The living area and double bed were more than sufficient for our needs and were very comfortable. All in all, we had a pleasant stay in a picturesque location that will be fondly remembered. Thank you very much.

Stayed in Beehive barn before lockdown and it was perfectâ¦maybe due to it being new.
This visit I felt that attention to detail was lacking. ie⦠the corner sofa had human hair behind the large cusions, lots of it! Shower cubicle in small double needs attention, black mould, and toilet seat urine stained. Outdoor furniture at front covered in green mould and out back the circular picnic table couldnât be used due to sever paint peel which made it very uncomfortable to sit on. Weather was great while we were there and would have been lovely to eat outside. Lock on front door needs attention. When locked from inside on two occasions we had difficulty opening it (it seemed to jam) which obviously in the event of a fire would be an issue. I am very familiar with keysafes due to my line of work. Again this needs attention as it was difficult to close Kitchen was amazing and very well equipped, lounge delightful too

A nice property, but some issues that could be easily addressed.
The unusual room layout means that light from the kitchen floods in to the Vault bedroom due to a high window on the shared wall. Not good if you go to bed before others. Blackout blinds would help. The vault door itself lets through a surprising amount of sound, some carefully placed insulation would help here. The initial impression is of a decent level of cleanliness, but if you pull out a bedside unit to retrieve a dropped ring as I did this level does not extend far. This issue was apparent elsewhere in the house, a deep clean is needed. The dining chairs are in a poor condition, basically starting to fall apart. This needs attention, for safety reasons if nothing else. Although it didn't impact us, the radiators in the living room urgently need securing. The wall brackets for them have been incorrectly fitted and they would come away from the wall easily.

We had a wonderful stay.
The cottage is very well equipped and is perfectly located just off the A1, making it very accessible to all the local attractions. With Holy Island just a couple of miles down the road and Edinburgh just 60 miles further north, itâs in a great position. The cottage has a very large garden looking out onto fields of sheep and with views out to sea, Holy Islands and in the far distance, Bamburgh castle. Kitchen is very well equipped, lounge is comfy and snug with a log burner. Beds very comfortable. If I was to be super picky, itâs would be useful to have some bath sheets. Whilst thereâs plenty of towels, itâs nice to have a big towel and the lighting in the kitchen might be a bit dim for some with poorer vision. Otherwise, really canât fault the cottage and the attentiveness of the owners.
