What our customers say about their holidays

Overall a good stay.
Positives, a great welcome pack and good selection of games, the hot tub is massive which is great. Good to have off-road parking and location right in the town centre is excellent. I agree with others that the pictures do make it look bigger than it is. Staying with a baby, we couldnât get the pram in the front door as the corridor and baby gate made is so narrow. I used the washer - an essential staying with a baby - but then found the dryer wouldnât work as the water tub was full but it was impossible to empty without taking the kitchen apart to get to it. The mattress in the first floor double room sinks in the middle and wasnât comfortable. The bathroom on the first floor has been grouted not silicon sealed between the tiles and bath meaning itâs got gaps and the grout looking a bit dirty - you notice these things when bathing a baby! Staying with a parent who has mobility and sight issues, the floors are uneven throughout the property and the downstairs shower room is very small. Part of the reason of booking this property was it had a ground floor bathroom and bedroom. One of the jets in the hot tub doesnât work as the grey dial that switches it on/off is stuck/broken in the off position. This is an honest review of what we found and feedback to the owners and we did have a good stay.

The tent is on a beautiful site, very peaceful, surrounded by woodland for walks. There are 6 tents I think, but all very well spaced out and you couldn't hear each other at all. There is a pond at the bottom of the garden, which is fenced off, but still has a steep drop, so keep an eye on smalls heading down there. The tent itself had a great fire pit, a picnic table (very handy), enough patio furniture for lots of people, and very comfy beds with lovely white bedding, and lots of fluffy blankets. The fire worked very well, the wood is plentiful and free, which makes a nice change, and we managed to cook sausages and bacon in the fire oven. Worth noting, there is also a double gas hob in the kitchen for boiling a kettle etc. The bathroom was great, the kitchen had everything required, and the honesty shop was perfect for when you have run out of things (or urgently need a Magnum). Plus it had outdoor stuff like cricket bats etc for kids to borrow, and board games etc. The best bit of it all though was that I emailed June, the site manageress, before we arrived, as it was my husband's 40th, and she decorated the tent with balloons and bunting and '40' balloons and even snuck in a hamper for him that I had sent down. Totally above and beyond. We will definitely be back.

My partner and I have just stayed here with two other couples and two dogs over the August Bank Holiday weekend and we had a great time.
The beds are really comfortable, there was plenty of utensils (despite other reviews saying there was nothing), the interior was all a really high quality.....for what we paid I think it was huge value for money. The hosts looked after us well and even when we had a slight issue with how dirty the hot tub got on the 2nd day after the farmer had been working in the field next door, they happily came and cleaned it for us so we could carry on using it. The only thing I would say is that you'd have to be careful if you took dogs because the garden isn't enclosed. We took a giant pen with us to put around the patio area so it wasn't a problem, however if your dog is a bit of a runner or their recall isn't the best I'd just be mindful as the Stables is situated right next to a road (albeit not a busy one). It is also situated in the middle of nowhere and therefore quite exposed to the elements, so whilst its scenic and very tranquil, I'd recommend packing a blanket or a decent hoodie to wear if you want to sit outside afternoon/evening time. Overall a very good place to stay and I would happily book this venue again.

This was a fabulous property for a family get together.
Plenty of space and everything you could need for a home from home. The hot tub was fabulous, the huge garden was amazing for our 3 year old grandson to play on. We noticed a few cobwebs in the master bedroom, only a small issue but easily sorted. The smell from the drains was quite strong from arrival, we put it down to it being in the countryside but it got worse and was a bit off putting when wanting to use the BBQ and hot tub. On the last day we mentioned it to the maintenance guy who agreed it was very strong and shouldnât be that bad as they had only recently been serviced. The large sofa in the lounge was very uncomfortable to sit on. Provision of a couple of fans would be useful as the smaller bedrooms got quite warm. All of these things are very small and did not spoil our experience significantly. Our main feedback is that 10 am checkout is very early and hard work to move out 3 families with babies and children, have breakfast and aim to leave the place as clean and tidy as possible. 11 am or even 12 midday would be much better. Overall we all enjoyed the stables and fasciitis very much

Pros: The property was beautifully presented, and made very special with the decoration for Christmas.
Check in was very easy with the key safe and the owner allowed us to go in a little early. The hot tub was suitable for 8 adults and the levels were checked by the owner while we were there to make sure the chemicals were okay. The property was clean (other than one towel that was very stained), the rest of the property was very clean. The parking was sufficient for 3 cars without having to block each other in. The property was very quiet, there's another rental cottage next door but very separate. Things to consider: There were no cleaning products, so we had to go out and buy our own to keep the place clean while we were there. And only 3 toilet rolls which isn't sufficient for a group of 8 for 3 nights. There isn't enough plastic cups for a big group for the hot tub (lots of the plastic cups in the cupboard were cracked from previous guests and overuse) so these need replacing. We had a really lovely time and thought the property was a nice place to spend our new year.
