This was an old but very clean property in a great location in the Peak District.
Very creaky floors which I guess is to be expected for its age. Nice really well equipped high spec kitchen but both fridges and the freezer were difficult to open as they werenât fixed in the housing of the fitted kitchen. The busy road right outside the house was very noisy and meant that windows could not really be open especially at night (it was hot on floor 1 and ground floor) and it was not possible to use the garden comfortably to relax due to the noise of heavy traffic passing by constantly. 3 private parking spaces allocated to the property were not guaranteed to be available to use for 5 days of our stay due to being used by customers visiting the fish and chip shop opposite. This caused problems for our 3 car party. This issue was mentioned in an email but only after booking and payment. Bedrooms a good size (main en-suite bedroom ground floor door impossible to close). Beds comfortable and clean. Lots of bedroom cupboard space and bathrooms very nicely done. Iâm sure plenty of others will enjoy and have enjoyed a lovely time here and we were okay but for the price point I think there are simple maintenance improvements that could be made and the noisy road/parking issues should be mentioned before any payment is made as this could be a dealbreaker for those seeking peace and quiet.

We agree with other reviews that HeathyLee is a very clean well equipped property in a peaceful location.
However, it should not be marketed as a 6 person accommodation as the dark 3rd bedroom to the side of the property is unsuitable for 2 adults with a very low beam over one of the beds. A 165cm (5' 5") adult found it hazardous and banged their head several times. The beam is lower than five feet off the ground over the bed. We feel it presents a Health&Safety; issue. The other twin bed in the room has no issues with a beam - therefore HeathyLee is better advertised as a 5 bed property. Another reviewer has commented on the "challenging" nature of the lane leading to the property and perhaps there should be an advisory that large cars, eg, SUV's, large hatchbacks might find it difficult parking, even off- road in front of the property. We liked the village and its amenities and the accessibility to walks surrounding Longnor. We hope this review is taken in the spirit of helpful advice for marketing purposes.

Overall a really nice cottage and a lovely stay.
The beds were exceptionally warm and comfortable. Each bedroom had a working TV although tall people be wary of low door frames. The kitchen was very well equipped with cutlery, plates, glasses etc and all the appliances were in clean working order. We did find the very small outside bins a slight issue as it was full when we arrived. The downstairs shower room was very handy water pressure and temperature was excellent. The upstairs bathroom extractor fan was very noisy and we found the downstairs toilet door kept jamming which made a very loud echoing noise. The dining room and sitting room were comfortable. The dvd player did not work and we reported this to the owner but got no response. The carparking was a squeeze. Advertised for 3 cars but this seemed unlikely. Nice pub and fish and chip shop in the village and lots of great walks and views in the area. Thank you for our stay.

Loved our stay in Buxton and would highly recommend this flat.
Simple in decoration but extremely clean and tidy with spacious rooms. Plenty of space for a family to stay here with 2 large bedrooms, 1 room has a single and double bed, and the other a double bed. For a basement flat, it was surprisingly light and airy, and the flat was very quiet. Well equipped with plenty of kitchen utensils, high chair and cot, washing machine, good internet and a large tv. We also received chocolates and a bottle of Prosecco on arrival, a great touch! The flat is 2 streets away from the centre of town, but situated up a slight hill so away from any noise. Easy 2 min walk to town, and a couple minutes more to the beautiful parade gardens. Great location! Thereâs a Sainsburyâs local a couple of mins walk away as well. We had a great stay, and would definitely recommend to others looking for a staycation this summer. Thanks for hosting us!

We had a super week at Curlew Barn.
The property is very comfortable and well equipped. Friendly and helpful owners there to welcome us. They provided very useful information on the local area. We loved the hot tub - beautiful view from the garden. Lots to do nearby. We did lots of walking at the nearby manifold way, near Barlestone, and at the Tittesworth reservoir. We also visited some great places within an easy drive, namely Shugborough Hall, Kedleston hall, Trentham Gardens and Chatsworth. Handy supermarket a few miles away in Leek and M&S food just a few minutes away in Ashbourne. The Bangladeshi restaurant within walking distance receives great, well-deserved, reviews - we are there twice! Will definitely return. This is a very under-rated area with beautiful walking and plenty to entertain visitors.
