What our customers say about their holidays

Family of 7 adults, a toddler and a baby, celebrating a special birthday.
Had a lovely weekend. Itâs a pretty cottage in wonderful surroundings. We were lucky with the weather and barely had the under floor heating on, even though it was Nov. Bring logs for the fire if itâs cold though, the log burner would make it very cosy. Nice place for a long ramble then back for hot chocolate! Kitchen is well equipped, master bedroom huge. The bed in the new Shepherds Hut is comfortable but we were not keen on the shower/toilet arrangement in the hut. Think there should be a curtain at the window as the hut is close to a huge bright outside light thatâs on all night. Thereâs a bit of a condensation problem in there, at this time of year but we couldnât open the window. It wasnât wired in yet but thereâs a TV in the hut too. New hot tub is really great. We loved it and used it a lot. Lyndsay was extremely pleasant and helpful both before and during our stay, and the welcome pack was very comprehensive. It sleeps 8 as advertised, but be aware the ceiling is very low in parts of the mezzanine twin room, and the upstairs area particularly the upstairs en suite toilet is a real squeeze - not sure itâs ideal for most adults but was fine for my mum who is tiny. Better for children than adults, but not toddlers unless you bring a baby gate. Itâs very open and the stairs are tricky. Just my opinion but the lounge/communal areas are really not big enough if 8 adult people do come. The table does not seat 8 comfortably and there are only 5 seats in the lounge as advertised. Ok in the Summer when youâd sit outside, but in my opinion theres not really enough space for 8 people for any length of time at this time of year. WiFi isnât great. Didnât really bother us but worth mentioning if you do need it. Local shopping centre is fairly close and thanks to Lyndsay we found out about the Christmas Lights switch on, and the Coca Cola Christmas lorry. Thank you!

The location is lovely, peaceful with lovely views.
Lyndsey the lady on site was lovely, she was very welcoming and not at all intrusive considering she lived next door! The house was nicely maintained, with plenty of room. The welcome pack was a nice touch, thank you The garden is not enclosed which is not great when you have a four legged friend to look after & chase about, but the site is large and fortunately when he wandered we found him! I stayed in what we called the Hobbit House - the bed was marvellous, never slept so well, however there is no storage for personal belongings, no mirror, the loo is a port a loo which is not great in high temperatures and the bathroom door refused to stay shut! That said, there was only the lack of storage which caused a serious issue. The mezzanine floor bedroom had the same issue, no storage for personal belongings. I acquired a clothes horse from the main house to hang my clothes on......... The 2 main bedrooms were lovely, full size coat hangers would be good though! The sofa's although new are not big enough for sitting watching TV on an evening, they are small which means you are sitting on top of each other, not great in high temperatures. Loads of parking for a number of cars, although the road to and from the house is not great, we had high cars which was good, as low cars would bottom out in the many deep holes along the road. The jacuzzi and sauna were there and clean & ready for use, but we never used them due to the lovely weather we had, we just sat out and enjoyed the view. A lovely location for a quiet holiday, lots of birds and squirrels to watch and enjoy.

We recently had one of the best UK.
Holidays here at 3 Pheasant Lane. From the beginning of our booking we knew that we had found somewhere amazing. It started with the brilliant contact established with the on site manager Lyndsay . She ensured that she delivered the best possible stay for us all . We loved everything and we were especially lucky to be the first guests to enjoy the brand new hot tub. The beds were so comfortable that my son and his wife went home and purchased the same one . We all thoroughly relaxed and unwound. The cottage is adjacent to woods and a ten minute walk to a peaceful reservoir. The only noise you hear is the bubbles from the hot tub and the pheasants. It is idyllic, well positioned, beautifully set up and superbly stocked with everything you need (apart from your own food and drink !). Just a short drive away is a great selection of shops to replenish your provisions . Having stayed in Centre parks and Forrest holidays for nearly 20 years , 3 Pheasant lane blows them our of the water . We are so grateful to Lyndsy, her dedication to her position shows in every aspect -there is even a beautiful welcome hamper waiting for you. We would shout from the rooftops how lovely it is there . If you are after a lovely ,relaxing, peaceful time - you will get it !. We would highly recommend this cottage, and the owner is committed to providing the best experience possible,by investing in a full plan of refurbishment works during the quieter rental months. Thank you again Sykes and lyndsy for our fabulous time .

Pheasant Lodge is set in a beautiful woodland, it's a luxury property and the master bedroom is huge!
The kitchen is very well equipped. Kieron met us and showed us around the property and how to operate the sauna and hot tub. We also used the pizza oven and BBQ, plenty of outdoor seating, a lovely garden and very private & safe with it being the last property at the end of the lane. We were celebrating the 60th wedding anniversary of my parents who are both in their 80's, they found the ground floor bedroom and bathroom easily accessible. Also staying were my daughter and her husband along with my granddaughter of almost 15 months, she was so excited and spent so much time outside. There were 4 generations at the property and it suited us all, I stayed in the shepherd's hut, it was a very comfortable bed, hot water always available and I loved it. The walks to both reservoirs are truly stunning, we saw lots of wildlife and so peaceful. Fox Valley retail park is only 10 mins drive away and has every shop you could need and a beautiful Italian restaurant where the food was delicious. We also had pre-booked Sunday lunch at McGilverays' Wortley Arms, (as recommended by Kieron) the food was excellent, the owners went above and beyond to look after 12 of us (my sisters, niece and partner joined us). We want to thank Kieron for his great hospitality and was easily contactable if we had any requests or issues. I would highly recommend staying here, we all had such a lovely time. Thank you so much

This detached little cottage has been really sensitively modernised, with cleverly warm and light-increasing touches.
Comfy, stylish, solid, spotlessly clean, good value. Many lovely walks and drives from here (v well-maintained public footpaths everywhere), genuine sense of peace, and we loved the view, hot tub and range of garden furniture. When the promised wood-burning stove gets added, it'll feel perfect in all weathers - although the heating looks adequate already. It's not within the (overcrowded) Peak District itself but still in a lovely landscape, and many attractions aren't far. I didn't want to come home. I could only quibble with a few tiny practical details: I'd've liked a few more mugs, one living-room lightbulb bright enough to let you read on the sofa, a bannister rail and soft surface at the bottom of the staircase (which is steep and narrow-stepped as in all genuine cottages - unsuited for mobility-impaired or small kids); a small dishwasher would be handier than the storage for 40 (!) bottles of wine. But the kitchen is well-equipped, and the walk-in shower is excellent (no bath btw). Didn't use the firepit or bbq, but great to have. If you're a dog owner do be aware: as the photos show, garden is shared and not enclosed, and sheep graze one field away, so a long lead might help. But your pup will love the walks here, and the furnishings are very practical. Two dog bowls were kindly left, but you'll want to bring your pup's own bed.
