  Nestled in a tranquil, picturesque setting, this hidden gem offers the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The combination of luxury and nature here is simply unbeatable. The facilities at Southdown Luxury Glamping are second to none. The accommodations was spacious, immaculately clean, and thoughtfully designed to provide maximum comfort. With plush bedding, a cozy wood-burning stove, and a well-equipped kitchenette, it felt like a home away from home—but with a far better view! The attention to detail was evident in every corner, from the tasteful décor to the top-notch amenities that made our stay feel truly luxurious. The private hot tub was an absolute highlight, allowing us to unwind under the stars in complete privacy. The surrounding environment added to the magic. We were completely enveloped by the serene countryside, where the only sounds were the gentle rustling of leaves and the melodic calls of local wildlife. It was impossible not to feel a sense of peace and relaxation, especially when enjoying a morning coffee on the deck. The location is fantastic, offering the best of both worlds—secluded and peaceful yet within easy reach of charming villages and beautiful walking trails. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the local area, but we also loved returning to our little haven at Southdown, where we felt utterly relaxed and rejuvenated.   Very rural setting in the village of Misterton.

  Plenty of scenic walks without having to take your vehicle out with you. Would be great for cyclists (we didn't take ours). The views from the lodge are amazing, hardly anything but stunning countryside. The lodge was brand new for our stay (May 2021). It has a very cosy seating area both inside and out, a very usable kitchen. We found we didn't need to pack anything out of the ordinary for our break. The hot tub is great to chill out in and rest your feet after a day of the Great British outdoors! If your thinking of going a bit further afield there is a local taxi company, be warned it's a one man operation so if your used to ordering a taxi and getting picked up in 10 minutes, you may want to pre-book some trips. Malcolm, his name is and he gave us pretty much a guided tour of the area, as he took us out to Bawtry. Would recommend this trip if you can spare a day or evening of your Holiday! There's a full size snooker table and fussball table on site and books and dvds in the lodge if you feel like relaxing on site. The owners where lovely and very helpful, all the best to Michelle and Geoff, you guys did a fantastic job for us!

  We stayed over Christmas week, we really did have the best time during our stay!

  ! Copper coin had everything we could possibly need and it is furnished to a very high standard. It was very clean. The folder with local recommendations was very handy too. We didn't venture far during our stay, but we were not far from a co-op at the end of the road and a park down the bottom of one of the side streets. There was plenty of space for our family of 6, whether we wanted to be all together or making use of all the different areas of the house! Our two year old loved to get comfy on the fluffy rugs!! There are plenty of tvs and great WiFi signal which was handy with our two teenagers and ten year old! The garden is huge and the covered hot tub was a lovely treat too! The bedrooms are spacious and have ample storage space. We have already booked Copper Coin again in the summer and we can't wait, we are looking forward to being able to enjoy the outside space, fingers crossed for a bit of sun. A huge thank you to the lovely hosts, they thought of everything, even thought about putting some Christmas decorations up for us. You have a beautiful holiday home to be proud of, we really did have the best week. Thank you!

  Amazing Peaceful Easter Weekend!

  Thank you so much to Michelle and Geoff - I went alone to Buttercup Lodge to 'get off the world' for 4 nights. Honestly, I felt such a sense of peace and was so stress-free, from the first hour I arrived... its just a very quiet, beautiful place.. bunnies and baby bunnies running around every morning on the grass in front of the lodge - very seasonal for Easter! The hot tub was great for 2 afternoons but when the hurricane winds and rain moved in - the log burner inside was even better! All the logs and kindling I needed, and a Prosecco and Lindt truffles left for me to enjoy! Oh and the Easter bunny left me a creme egg too! Everything is EXACTLY as described - ladies, there is a hairdryer if you're wondering and more than enough towels! I will definitely return - its an hour from me but so far removed from city-centre living it could be a different country. I feel lucky to have found it, lodge 3 is being built and the train carriage conversion will be just fab! HUGE thank you to Michelle for being the perfect hostess... I loved it!

  The property was spotless and it had the wow factor.

  The living area was bright, with lots of natural light and three separate seating areas. It felt very relaxing to be there with tasteful decor and comfortable chairs. Two of the bedrooms were very spacious and the third was okay but it had its own wardrobe. For the two larger rooms, hanging space was in the hallway which wasn't always practical. All the beds were super comfortable. The kitchen is big with loads of mainly empty cupboards and a decent fridge/freezer. For some reason, the microwave was in the utility room. There were no coffee making facilities but there was a kettle and a toaster. The garden is not overlooked, is quite well maintained though I'm not sure I liked the plastic flowers in the plant pots as much and it was very pleasant to sit in. The location is good on a quite road on the edge of Gawber with a view over fields and the M1 in the distance. There are a number of local attractions within 20 minutes of the property but it was so nice inside, there was no pressure to be out and about every day.
