  The cottage is great - completed to a very high standard and very clean. We visited the local pub at the end of the road which was lovely and the staff extremely friendly. The milk shed opposite was nice offering fresh milk, eggs, honey etc. The park opposite was great for our dog, she loved going over there for a run! We also had a lovely walk up to Paxtons Tower, lovely views over the area. However, we were very concerned that the back boundary fence was quite low and contained 2 rows of barbed wire! considering this is supposed to be a dog and child friendly property we felt this was a huge safety issue. If not remedied there will be a nasty accident for either a dog or a child. There are sheep in the field at the back of the property and this makes that boundary very interesting to a dog! There was also a significant gap at the end of the fence separating it from next door (Cliftonville House) - we blocked this off with a wheelie bin and next door wasn't occupied so not a huge problem but it will pose a problem when the 2 properties are rented out at the same time. When we arrived it was a hot and sunny weekend - there was no shade in the garden - we would recommend a patio umbrella or canopy. We also would have appreciated knowing in advance that logging was taking place on the nearly hillside - at 7.30am each morning we were woken up by chainsaws and heavy machinery - we appreciate this is beyond the property owners control but i think a notice on the booking site making people aware of this would have been appropriate and courteous. I assume at some stage this will cease but for now it is a nuisance! No welcome pack which was a shame :( - it would have been a nice touch. If these issues are addressed we think it would a lovely holiday rental.

  A lovely cottage in a great location.

  We spent a week here in August as my husband was racing at the nearby Pembrey circuit at the weekend and we decided we would extend our stay. The house itself was just what we were looking for; beautifully clean, well equipped and dog friendly. The towels and linens were supplied and the welcome of fresh milk and Welsh cakes was a nice touch. Burry Port has all the basics within a few minutes walk, a pleasant couple of pubs, a great fish and chip shop, bakery, tea room and plenty of take-aways if you don’t feel like cooking. The local co-op is also well stocked. The harbour and beach at Burry Port is fantastic for dogs. There are no restrictions and you can walk for miles on either the beach or adjacent coastal path - our only regret is we didn’t bring our bicycles! Pembrey Country Park is also a must visit. All in all, a great place to visit with the cottage being a perfect place to relax after a long days walking - Would recommend. Note: As described, the property has a downstairs bathroom and the stairs are fairly narrow and steep. Not ideal for those with restricted mobility or poor balance.

  Katy and Leon are wonderful hosts: warm, friendly and so accommodating.

  Nothing is a problem for them. Our cottage was a joy and as we were there for the Christmas week every room was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Well equipped and very comfortable. We were welcomed by Leon brandishing a plate of delicious pastries for us to try! Yummy! They even left a bottle of mulled wine and Christmas Bakewell tarts on the table. But the jewel in this idyllic Welsh Crown was the little "egg house" with a variety of eggs from their own chickens. The best eggs we have had in a long time. This is a brilliant location for families with dogs and/or children. There is a brilliant totally enclosed field for dogs of all sizes, accessed down a private and safe lane. Ty Cwtch has its own totally enclosed large garden which was much enjoyed by our two tiny doggies so you can let them out and leave them to play. There are rescue horses, sheep, gorgeous nosey goats who will come to the fence for a head scratch, and those chickens who gift us those wonderful eggs. The view across the valleys is as stunning as is the peace and quiet. We are planning a return in the summer. Highly recommended.

  Absolutely Brilliant.

  There are good holiday lets and then you get the Ty twt holiday let, that’s a stand alone winning leader. To summarise, the accommodation is beautifully kept, the fixtures and fitting, all the appliances, cutlery, plates pots,pans are all quality items . Nothing is left to chance with all electric &gas appliances covered by up to date compliance checks. The bed and bedding are both immaculately clean and ever so comfortable. The location of this dwelling would take some beating for convenience for shops, pubs, the beach and train station, unique, all commodities in one place. Finally, the host is the most hospitable friendly person you could wish to meet. It is through her hard work and vision that so many people are able to enjoy holiday times away in her house. Supported by her family who help offer home made delicious cakes. Added together this has to be a place you will return to, I know we have for years and still others places we have stayed in do not even compete ,the place and host deserve a high star rating for excellence.   What a lovely home.

  It was just as described, and very clean. Julie had left tea, coffee and milk for when we arrived, along with some cake. I had mentioned it was our wedding anniversary and my husband's birthday while we were away, and she left us a gift and a card, which was extremely thoughtful. It is very close to 2 beaches, and you could walk for miles. There is also the harbour, several shops and pubs close by, with fish and chip shops. Llanelli is only 20 minutes in the car, where you can find any shops you could need. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our few days in this lovely part of Wales, and would definitely go back. We have already recommended the cottage and Burry Port to family and friends.
