Surfers Retreat in Falmouth offers a clean, roomy, and comfortable stay with fantastic grounds and a good location close to the beach. The property is well-cared for, with high-speed internet and TVs in all rooms. Guests have enjoyed the local amenities, including a clubhouse with good food, and have expressed a desire to return.
The property was generally found to be clean, with one report of black mould and an unclean cheese grater. The grounds are well-kept, contributing positively to the overall cleanliness experience.
The location is appreciated for its proximity to the beach and local amenities, such as a clubhouse and nearby pub. The area is peaceful, especially outside of peak seasons, and is suitable for dog walking.
The accommodation is described as roomy and comfortable, with very comfortable beds. However, there is a mention of worn sofa padding, slightly detracting from the overall comfort.
Facilities like the on-site bar, gym, and pool add value, but there were issues with the oven, shower, and dishwasher not working, and a lack of instant hot water. These issues were partly resolved during the stay.
There is no mention of gifts or special attention to guest needs that would indicate thoughtfulness. Therefore, this category cannot be scored.

The double bed is very comfortable however I personally would have liked it to have had a mattress protector on. The kitchen is equipped with everything needed for self catering, the one thing I would comment on is due to it being so well stocked there is no designated free cupboard for groceries and guests will have to empty one to find space to store things. Unlike a previous comment I found the leather sofas comfortable and loved the quirky octopus lamp. Lots of games and books provided for quieter moments. Have stayed in several different cottages now as family live local, most of which leave some form of welcome pack for your arrival. Although this wasnât the case here it is reflected in the price of the cottage as it is very competitively priced for the same standard of accommodation. The only thing I didnât like and it is personal to me not a complaint was the bunk bed. My Husband is a restless sleeper and sometimes I need to have my own space and wasnât comfortable in the bunk. Had a lovely week, the weather was kind and we had dinner on the picnic benches several evenings.

It was clean well located. If I was to be very picky the sofas were a little uncomfortable as the padding was worn. The beds were very comfortable the site was well kept and the food in the clubhouse was excellent. We will definitely be staying here again soon.

We have stayed at these sorts of properties before and often been disappointed, but this was a real treat! It was clean, well-cared for and equipped with TV's in all rooms (perfect when the weather is not up to much) quality high speed internet and great grounds around the property. Downsides: - well the road that BMW Sat Nav takes you on is very narrow, but you soon work out there is a better route to the main gate 100yds further on (and anyway it is Cornwall) . I guess it could be noisy in Peck with lots of kids around and you windows open, but at the end of September it was just peaceful.
