  The apartment was exceptionally well-appointed, clean and spacious, with wonderful views and a lovely sitting out area with picnic benches in front of the house.

  The kitchen was generously equipped with nice cockery, cutlery and glasswear, and the cooking utensils provided were excellent. We enjoyed the sense of spaciousness in all the rooms and the high standard of furnishings and decor throughout. We were warmly welcomed and settled in and simply cannot recommend Ceol na Mara highly enough. I have personally stayed in many cottages on Skye over the past twenty years or so and can honestly say this is one of the very best. The campsite area is very well managed and simply does not intrude on the privacy of the apartment in any way, We have thoroughly enjoyed our time there and were very reluctant to leave when the time came to return home. Our thanks to the friendly and efficient owners who have done so much to provide a really great base for the holidaymakers who stay with them.

  My husband and I were visiting family in the area and Deer View was a convenient location.

  Richard and Susan were very welcoming on our arrival and easily contactable by phone during our stay, if required. The property was spotlessly clean and extremely well equipped, with lovely touches throughout and plenty of storage. The open plan nature of the property and the fact that it was all on one level were ideal. My husband has dementia and likes to know where I am at all times as well has having some mobility issues. There are 2 small steps from the parking area up to the property but the handrail made them easy to manage. The hot tub was a lovely way to relax after playing with the grandchildren, and seeing the deer in the morning whilst having breakfast was a treat. We hope to return soon.

  We ended up staying in the owner’s other property ‘Tree Tops’ above ‘Deer View’.

  I would definitely recommend staying at one of these properties. The hosts were really accommodating and attentive. The cleanliness was immaculate, the bed was one of the comfiest I’ve used, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was really peaceful as the property is on its own with no surrounding houses other than the owners. I liked the small touches, such as the homemade fruitcake and they went out of their way to make sure we had an enjoyable stay. The lodge had games, a manual with places to visit, instructions for the appliances and we were lucky enough to spot some baby deer in the garden, which we could see up close with the binoculars provided.   The property is absolutely fantastic, very difficult to put into words how nice it is. Great location with a top class interior fit out. Everything you need and more. Bed was the best I have ever slept on and the walk in shower was great. Swimming pool and facilities were way above our expectations and the fishing was great fun with plenty of choice. The owners are first class and they go over and above to make your stay memorable. Would certainly go back as I would love to experience the place in the summer. This place is one of those places you want to tell people about but also don’t want to as it’s a hidden gem which you want to keep for yourself. You will not be disappointed.

  We'd expected something unusual but not such spectacular landscaping and engineering. The main house, and the annexe in which we stayed, must have some of the best views in the county: two lakes stocked with fish, and a population of ducks, moorhens, coots and more; and when we stayed the bluebells were coming into bloom in the woodland. The annexe is modern, very accessible and easy to live in, and very well equipped. The whole place is just what we needed - very quiet and peaceful and beautiful. George and Mary were excellent hosts and glad to talk, and ready to explain the extraordinary history of their project... Guests at the Twin Lakes Annexe are very fortunate!
